Hello Gregory,
the fix will be part of the next FV Player release which should be released today.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: RSS implementationHello Tio,
we haven’t had a request like this before. Please send over some specs for the RSS feed format and we could give you an estimate for coding this feature to suit your needs. Would that be the same as the YouTube format? https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=UCqP1gIWh2SM3lRXf373gMNQ
If you know how to write WordPress plugins, then have a look at our FV Player Database API here: https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/player-database#php As you can see building this as a one-of plugin to suit single website wouldn’t be so hard.
Thanks,
MartinHello Richard,
I found the issue appears when the computer operating system is set to use the dark colors.
We have put in a fix, it will be part of the next FV Player release. Do get the fix right now you can reinstall FV Player from this link: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/master.zip To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Thanks,
MartinHello tcnet,
I see that if a stream doesn’t play and it starts to count-down and they you watch some other video it might suddenly get interrupted by that first stream as it becomes available.
We have improved it to only allow stop the live stream count-down when a video starts playing: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/492-multiple-live-stream.zip
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: embed player is goneHello Biellh,
one thing that could cause the “fvp” part of the iframe URL is the number of players on the page. How many players do you get when you open your page with the video where the embed link has changed? Is there any player in the header which didn’t used to be there?
Do you run into the same issue when using a default WordPress theme or do the links work fine there?
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: FV player with RTMP live streamHello yigael,
do you run into the same issue when using the default WordPress theme? I wonder if there is anything in your theme that makes the object element so small or hidden.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: global variable for shortcodeHello tcnet,
the proper way of appending such argument to the video URL would be using the fv_flowplayer_video_src filter. You can look it up in FV Player Programmer’s Guide: https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/api-programming
I doubt it will fix the issue you are having though.
Please open your browser console (here’s how https://foliovision.com/player/troubleshooting/javascript-browser-console), then try to play that video again and see if any error appears in that console.
How long does your token last? Can you send a URL we can test with?
FV Player Pro also has a class in it to append such token to the video URL using Ajax, so that it can’t be parsed from page HTML code.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Script to display fv video in a theme fileHello Samuel,
I would recommend you create the FV Player instance on the wp-admin -> FV Player screen. Then copy the shortcode and use it in your page template like this:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[fvplayer id="1"]'); ?>
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Subtitle Font SizeHello Nick,
it’s possible that your theme is setting the font-size in a forceful way.
In the worst case you can add !important to the CSS code which Maria posted. I added that as a tip at the start of our CSS Tips and Fixes guide where you can find more examples as well.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: License upgrade payment5 years ago in reply to: License upgrade paymentHello Remco,
I found there is a bug in that screen – it’s not check if you already did upgrade your license. We are working on a fix.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Subtitle Font SizeHello Nikolaos,
as I said your theme might have some CSS in it which forces all the paragraph text to a certain size.
But this should just work in our plugin and you shouldn’t have to think about this.
I tried to fix that, could you please reinstall FV Player from this link? https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/master.zip To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Then re-save the plugin options setting the desired font size and see if it works now.
Thanks,
MartinHello Sebastiaan,
we made some fixes to the wizard, please reinstall FV Player Coconut plugin from a fresh ZIP file which you obtain from https://foliovision.com/my-licenses
Thanks,
MartinHello Sebastiaan,
so did it ask you for DigitalOcean Personal Access Token and is it using the DigitalOcean Spaces CDN now?
Please remove the Coconut API key in wp-admin -> FV Player -> Coconut Jobs -> Settings. Then you should be able to run the wizard again and this time you should see in the first introduction step that BunnyCDN will be used. It should show this exact diagram:
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: how can i get iframe url from the video idHello Daniele,
no news yet, yesterday we had a state holiday. Hopefully I can check this with Alec this week.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Subtitle Font SizeHello Nikolaos,
your theme might have some CSS in it which forces all the paragraph text to a certain size. That’s what might be blocking our subtitle font size setting.
What Maria suggested should help.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: FV player with RTMP live streamHello yigael,
please try to open your browser developer console (here’s how https://foliovision.com/player/troubleshooting/javascript-browser-console), then try to play that video again and see if any error appears on the console.
In modern browser you have to explicitly allow Flash.
You can also check if https://foliovision.com/player/demos/cloudfront-download-protection -> “PLAYER WITH JUST THE RTMP STREAM” plays for you.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Problem when adding a new video from VimeoHello Eman,
so you got that as an error “An unexpected error has occurred. Please copy the player raw data below and submit a support ticket to Foliovision” when trying to save the video?
Does it happen again when you try to create new FV Player instance or was that just an one off? Some plugin error or plugin conflict might be breaking the saving routine.
Are you able to check the PHP error logs? If you are not sure you can try to install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/error-log-monitor/ Then try to save another player and see what was added to the logs.
Thanks
Martin5 years ago in reply to: FV Player PRO license question…Hello Adams,
please take the actual license key from https://foliovision.com/my-licenses and paste it into that FV Player license key field on your website in wp-admin. It won’t work with license auto-activation.
Thanks,
MartinHello Calvin,
unfortunately there’s no way to change a license without paying a domain change fee. We allow domain change at a small fee, as if it were free we’d have to deal with pirates changing domains like socks.
With the small fee, we avoid these issues and as the fee is small it shouldn’t be a serious inconvenience for the rare times an active publisher does need or want to change his or her domain.
We try to price FV Player reasonably and we let you renew the license at a reduced rate (about 1/3 of full price) if you renew before expiration. You won’t find that on many plugins these days.
We can also change the domain for you if your old website has been really taken down. So let us know which one it is.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: FV Player PRO license question…Hello Adams,
please check https://foliovision.com/my-licenses now and you will find the license key for localhost domain right there.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: FV Player PRO license question…Hello Adams,
the staging website has to run on a sub-domain on the live website indeed. So if you have my-website.com, it needs to be something like dev.my-website.com. Or it could be my-website.my-webhost.com if your web host offers such domains.
If you are in a localhost environment you can setup dev.my-website.com on it using virtual hosts.
We could potentially allow using a simple localhost domain you what you are trying to use, but we have to think about the possible consequences. Our licensing needs to stay reasonably secure.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: How to use “Search player”Hello Bruno,
we will make this improved search routine part of the next FV Player release. That way everybody will benefit from the improved search.
Thank you for sharing your issues with us and all the testing.
Thanks,
MartinHello André,
we have prepared a new feature for FV Player Pro which will let you skip any transcript formatting and use it in its raw form. We need to finish some testing though. Perhaps it will help with your issue.
How should that “v character” part be displayed? I wonder if using some speech balloon would make sense.
Thanks,
MartinHello Kendell,
I don’t see anything strange with the way you are pausing the player.
It seems to me that timepause should be an array with 10 and 20 as values, but you are comparing it as a string. I would make that array JSON encoded an then loop through it looking for that time or fixtime value.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: how can i get iframe url from the video idHello Daniele,
so when you are viewing a course in WPLMS is it really a non-standard WordPress theme that is not using jQuery at all? Can it at least be loaded?
Previously I also said that the FV Player iframe embed code could work with player ID but it doesn’t for security reasons. We could actually allow that if we put up some token into the URL. But we will have to discuss this in our team if we would like such feature or if it’s more of a custom programming job.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: how can i get iframe url from the video idHello Daniele,
the important question here is whether the FV Player script is loaded in your page HTML or not. Once it’s there is doesn’t matter how the FV Player instances are appended to HTML in Ajax, they should just work.
You can verify this by running “flowplayer” on your browser developer console.
FV Player uses a the jQuery ajaxComplete hook to support Ajax calls:
jQuery(document).ajaxComplete( function() { fv_player_load(); });
Perhaps that’s not enough and you need to run fv_player_load() in some other way. You can even try to run it on browser console to see if fixes and FV Player that fails to initialize.
I’m not sure why the WPLMS support talks about videocipher.
Thanks,
MartinHello Peter,
by default only one video should be allowed to play in FV Player. How are you starting the playback if it allows some other video to play in background?
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Player freezing on live HLS streamsHello techcolin,
I tried to play a HLS live stream with FV Player and I did block the network connection to the streaming server and I see it just failed to play and didn’t recover.
I did run into the same issue with Safari which supports HLS natively.
I see that improving this could be a nice new feature in FV Player. But since it would require a separate code for Safari (mainly on iPhone) it wouldn’t be so easy.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: how can i get iframe url from the video idHello Daniele,
please check if you are using Settings -> FV Player -> Integrations/Compatibility -> “Load FV Flowplayer JS everywhere”. If they say that the player HTML is appended to the page with Ajax and then it doesn’t execute, then that setting should fix it.
The iframe embed code could work with player ID, but it checks if the post does contain that player ID. So I’m not sure if that would work for you.
Thanks,
MartinHello David,
here’s what we tried – first we clicked to play a failing live stream. That would show the 30 second countdown. Then we played a second player with a working live stream which would work just fine.
But once the 30 seconds countdown of first player has reached its end and it tried to connect again it would mute the live stream playing in the second player.
Is that the issue you were running into?
We fixed the issue and it would be great if you could help us with testing by reinstalling FV Player from this link: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/492-multiple-live-stream.zip To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Thanks,
MartinHello Jp,
I checked that thread and I see there was some conflict with your theme. We made some suggestions:
Could you please try to switch your website to some default WordPress theme to see if the issue is present also there?
The sizing issue was related to some jQuery fullscreen plugin on your website.
But it appears to me we didn’t get any response about these issues from you.
So I would recommend you put up the latest version as I was mentioning in my last message and then if there is some issue let us have a look. We will see if there is some specific issue in your case and if we can make a general fix for it.
Thanks,
MartinHello tcnet and tomierna,
the challenge here is detect the live stream ending. If this is not done properly, then it might trigger even if the user simply has an internet connection issue.
I can see how this could work on desktop computers as with HLS.js library we can check the stream manifest file.
Thanks,
MartinHello Jp,
the issue with midroll ads was fixed in FV Player VAST 7.4.15.727 released in March.
So unless your mobile device is iOS below version 13 it should work for you. Some other restrictions might apply too, like if the ad is a static ad unit (not a video) and it’s too big to fit into the player size on mobile.
But it seems you are on FV Player VASST 7.4.10.727.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Support for VAST 4.x MacrosHello Egbert,
we have added support for [ASSETURI], [PAGEURL], [CACHEBUSTING], [TIMESTAMP] and [DEVICEUA].
Could you please reinstall FV Player VAST from a new ZIP file from https://foliovision.com/my-licenses -> FV Player VAST -> hit download in the table row for your domain.
To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Then you should see these macros working.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: RSS implementationHello Tio,
FV Player doesn’t work in RSS feeds as the RSS feed format doesn’t support JavaScript. So for each player we only show a splash image and a “Click to watch the video” text below it.
So I’m not sure what exactly you mean by providing RSS for playlists. Do you mean that each playlist item thumbnail should be displayed and open that exact video when clicked? That sounds like a good idea, but can align these images like playlist items in RSS? I’m not sure about that since it doesn’t support CSS. But perhaps inline CSS would work.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Stackpath Secure Token instructionsHello tcnet,
we added the Stackpath support a while ago. Back then the URL tokens worked with “st” and “e” arguments.
I see that it’s different now and unfortunately we no longer have a Stackpath account. I will check it with Alec.
Do you plan to use it for HLS streams?
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: How to use “Search player”Hello Bruno,
now you can put the search phrase into ‘ or ” to make it an exact match:
"the sun is shining"
Could you please reinstall FV Player from this link again to help us with testing? https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/484-multiple-words-search.zip
I hope it works for you, thank you for your useful feedback so far.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Subtitle Font Color’Hello Rolf,
we have a guide about how to add the CSS modifications for FV Player, please read the introduction here: https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/css-tips-and-fixes
Juraj will add these subtitle font color instructions to it later.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: jQuery Migrate Helper ErrorHello Klewis,
actually the answer to your question is simple here – we need to stop using jQuery.browser in our code. So we will work on that.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: How to use “Search player”Hello Bruno,
I’m not sure why such error would appear if your limits are set to high. The previous version of FV Player should not be a problem either, as what I sent over would use a different folder name.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: How to use “Search player”Hello Bruno,
I think the new improved search that we worked on should fix your issue. Could you please reinstall FV Player from this link? https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/484-multiple-words-search.zip To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: How to use “Search player”Hello Bruno,
each row in that wp-admin -> FV Player table has a “Export” action when you hover it. Once you send over that export to us we will be able to tell what’s going on with the search.
Or you can just post a screenshot of the FV Player editor with that player being edited and video URL visible.
Thanks,
MartinHello John,
we are working on some restructuring, so we removed the plugin from store for now. I fixed the license key checks to keep working.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: How to use “Search player”Hello Bruno,
we have worked on improving the search function now, but it’s strange that the search didn’t work for you.
Could you please post the player export taken from that wp-admin -> FV Player screen here? I wonder if the URLs are using %20 or + encoding for blank spaces.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: DRM encrypted hls video not playingHello Slogin,
I think the Multisite is the key to the issue here. If your blog address is https://site.com/actor-a then you must not use https://site.com/?fv_player_hls_key=1beb2ca1-8fce-4110-81ba-843c171a2eb1/hls/test2 but https://site.com/actor-a/?fv_player_hls_key=1beb2ca1-8fce-4110-81ba-843c171a2eb1/hls/test2 – if the blog runs in a “actor-a” folder, it needs to be part of the DRM URL.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: insert new video – errorHello Mike,
so you got that as an error “An unexpected error has occurred.
Thanks
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Can’t Get Rid of Watermark on FV Player ProHello Edward,
I see you are using some plugin to optimize the JavaScript loading on your website – wpo-minify.
It seems it’s hanging on to the older version of the FV Player JavaScript library, so please clear its cache and see if that helps. If not, then please deactivate that minify plugin and see if that fixes the issue.
Hello Carlos,
are you using any similar plugin like Edward? Does wp-admin -> Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Check Template report any issues?
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Buffer runs empty, video stallsHello Girish,
so you are streaming HLS through Cloudfront, is that correct? And the URLs are not set to expire after some time (URL signature), is that also correct?
Please ask your users in India what browsers they use. If it’s not Safari, then a HLS stream would play with HLS.js which already tries to load the missing segments 2 times if they fail to load the first time and it also tries different video qualities.
Please also ask if they were able to play the video after reloading the page.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Vimeo videos not playing in safari onlyHello Robert,
I see macOS 10.15.6 with Safari 13.1.x has some issue with your video. The bug is somewhere in Dash.js library which is part of FV Player.
FV Player 7.4.33.727 is out now and it fixes the issue – it has the older Dash.js library in it where the issue doesn’t occur.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: DRM encrypted hls video not playingHello Slogin,
that JavaScript error might be or might not be related to the playback issue you are having. Please post it again, but this time click that tiny triangular arrow on the first line of the error notice to reveal the full error trace. Best if you can do with SCRIPT_DEBUG set to true in wp-config.php – if you have a good enough understanding of PHP and file editing.
There is still a chance that the playback engine is getting invalid decryption key though. Remember that the fv_player_hls_key argument in the HLS license URL has to match the URL of the stream and it must be the only stream that is matched. Previously you used something that was way too general.
If you follow our guide you will see that it’s written in a way that avoids these mistakes. I’m sorry to see how much trouble you are running into, but it seems to me it’s mostly because you are working on your own video encryption workflow. So it might take couple more messages back and forth and some additional checks on your end before it all works.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: DRM encrypted hls video not playingHello Slogin,
please try to open your browser developer console (here’s how https://foliovision.com/player/troubleshooting/javascript-browser-console), then try to play that video again and see if any error appears on the console.
Also try to actually save the player and use it on some real post or page – will it play there?
We are also happy to help you troubleshoot the issue with your custom video encoding directly on your website if you purchase our Pro support: https://foliovision.com/pro-support
Otherwise we can keep sending over some troubleshooting steps.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Vimeo videos not playing in safari onlyHello Robert,
please check our homepage video in Safari at https://foliovision.com/ – does it play for you?
I checked your video on http://tw….staging.com and it plays for me. I’m using Safari 13.1.1 on macOS 10.14.6. Please let us know what version of Safari and macOS are you using.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: DRM encrypted hls video not playingHello Slogin,
that fv_player_hls_key has to be unique across your entire website (fvplayer shortcodes in post content and FV Player database). Otherwise you might be getting the incorrect decryption key – which is why Juraj is suggesting you to try something better than just “test2”.
In fasct it would be best to use 1beb2ca1-8fce-4110-81ba-843c171a2eb1/hls/test2 as I believe that first part is a result of using the AWS Video on Demand and it should be really unique for each video: https://aws.amazon.com/solutions/implementations/video-on-demand-on-aws/
Thanks,
MartinHello John,
please reinstall from this link again and it will work: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/466-composer.zip
I see I forgot about the old PHP include file.
Thanks,
MartinHello John,
Could you please reinstall FV Player from this link? https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/466-composer.zip
To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.Until now we were including our “own” lightweight version of AWS SDK for PHP, but it appears we just have to use Composer for it. The plugin ZIP file is 4.3 MB this way, it used to be 1.6 MB with out custom version.
I’ll still look into improving this, but at least you can test things on your end.
Thanks,
MartinHello John,
in that case I would recommend that you check the PHP error logs directly. That plugin was just an idea in case you have no access to these logs.
Thanks,
MartinHello Hung,
so did using that fv_player_load() fix the issue – the player no longer appeared with “ADMIN JAVASCRIPT WARNING” error and you could play it, no? (I see the browser console did warn you about pasting in any code, obviously that wouldn’t normally happen if our loading procedure would work with your theme properly.)
If that’s the case, then you should be asking the theme developers if they provide some JavaScript event which is triggered when they load content using Ajax, like we did suggest to some other user here: https://foliovision.com/support/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/troubleshooting/fv-player-with-ajax-based-wordpress-themes#post-108690
If it’s anything that is standard we could support it in our plugin directly. We do listen for standard jQuery Ajax completion event:
jQuery(document).ajaxComplete( function() { fv_player_load(); });
“Admin: Check filed” – that’s our video checker: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/how-to-use-video-checker I’m not sure why it won’t work for you though, but let’s leave that issue for later.
Thanks,
MartinHello Hung,
magentawave posted about 4 different issues. Which exact issue are you having?
Are you running into that issue with “ADMIN JAVASCRIPT WARNING” where the FV Player won’t properly initialize? Does it happen when editing or when viewing the website?
Please try to reproduce the issue and then run this on the browser JavaScript console to see if that loads FV Player properly:
fv_player_load();
Thanks,
MartinHello John,
please try to install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/error-log-monitor/ Then try to open that DigitalOcean Spaces browser again and see if any error appears in it.
You can also check PHP error logs directly on the server. If you are not sure about it, the server technical support should be able to give you a hand.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Player freezing on live HLS streamsHello techcolin,
if the error was ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED then it looks to me like some issue with the CDN.
https://sts-cdn-ourdomain-ukso1.streaming.media.azure.net won’t resolve for me currently.
What’s the advantage of your setup over something simpler such as DaCast? Please let us know how does it compare: https://www.dacast.com/live-streaming-pricing-plans/
Then there is Vimeo with live streaming support as well: https://vimeo.com/upgrade Vimeo allowed 3rd party players to play their live streams recently, so we should add support for that.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Player not loading when going via Restream.ioHello techcolin,
it’s a strange issue, please start by checking if you checked the “Live stream” checkbox in the FV Player editor: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/hls#inserting-hls-to-fv-player
If that’s not in, then please use our video checker to report the video (here’s how: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/how-to-use-video-checker ) or post the stream link here.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: redirect errorHello Cristina,
did you get that error when saving your video FV Player editor? Or are you having issues with the redirection feature?
Thanks,
MartinHello Lana,
good news, I’m able to reproduce the issue.
There is some problem with the /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php address on your website. I just get HTTP 403 out of it with message: “You don’t have permission to access this resource.” So either there is some serious bug in the PHP code or access to that URL is somehow protected by some security plugin or some security enhancement of your web host.
Please check your web server PHP error logs and look for any errors that could related to fv-wordpress-flowplayer or fv-player-pro plugins or that admin-ajax.php URL. If you are not sure about how it’s done, please ask your web host support. That’s what I would recommend as they should see the cause of that HTTP 403 issue if it’s their internal security routing (in something like mod_security).
Also check if you have any security plugin which is really trying to lock down your website by restricting WP Ajax (that’s a pretty name of admin-ajax.php).
Thanks,
MartinHello Lana,
that https://www.c..com/p…./ link which you posted is asking for a login indeed.
Are they still not able to play it or did the issue just occur once?
Thanks,
MartinHello Lana,
is 444794043 a new video only added today? I can’t see it in the API logs. When did the users experience issues with it?
Are you able to check what device and browser did the users use? If you contacted you using a contact form plugin, then it might be already logged there. If they sent you an email, it would be great if you could ask what they are using.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Timeline Previews in FV Player ProHello Kristin,
do you know of any way of how to generate these video thumbnails easily?
We are thinking of creating a service to build these video thumbnails.
Thanks,
MartinHello Lana,
please provide at least one of the Vimeo video IDs for which the issue has occurred. If it’s 208950915 or 208957948 or 208963645 then it seems the allowed domain for these is set improperly on Vimeo.
It if’s not the case, then please let us know when did the issue occur and what device and browser did your users use.
Thanks,
MartinHello turbokingspoker,
thank you for posting all the details.
It seems your web host is using mod_security with a rule which is trying to avoid SQL injection in the SRS Simple Hits Counter plugin (more details on tenable.com). But the rule seems to be quite simple and anytime it sees a post_id argument in the request it’s blocked.
Thanks,
MartinHello turbokingspoker,
please check these PHP error logs too.
You can also open the Network tab of the browser developer tools, clear the log, then try to save a new FV Player with the Pay Per View tab details filled in like on your screenshot here: https://gyazo.com/04a7d967cd16fae64fc42d8864741545
Then there should be a new admin-ajax.php call added to the Network tab which you need to check – see attached image. There might be multiple admin-ajax.php requests, but one of them will have “action” set to “ppv_create”.
But it’s likely that it will just show with that HTTP 403 error and you will have to check the PHP error logs to find the cause.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Building app for Android TVHello woo,
does your app just load the page HTML and shows it in a web view?
Or would you like to get the video URL in a special field in the WP JSON API?
What hosting do you use for your videos? Are you using URL tokes or even encrypted HLS streams?
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: playback speedHello Gabe,
please tell us more about why you need such feature. If we like it, we might just add it. Otherwise we might be able to do it a custom programming job or add some documentation to let some other programming team take care of this for you.
Just adding a bare bones feature like this is fairly easy, but it should also work with FV Player Editor and all.
Thanks,
MartinHello turbokingspoker,
please let us know what Easy Digital Downloads version you are using. I didn’t run into the issue when using 2.9.23 which is the latest version on https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-digital-downloads/
Please also try to open your browser developer console (here’s how https://foliovision.com/player/troubleshooting/javascript-browser-console), then try to add a new player with the PayPerView information filled in and see if any error appears on the console.
Please also try to install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/error-log-monitor/ Then repeat that PayPerView creation process and see if any error appears in it.
You can also check PHP error logs directly on the server. If you are not sure about it, the server technical support should be able to give you a hand.

Martin5 years ago in reply to: Vimeo captions remain enabled by defaultHello Robert,
you are right that the subtitles activation is remembered. I think that behavior is desired.
You can use a JavaScript code like this to make sure it’s not remembered:
try { delete(localStorage.fv_player_subtitle); } catch(e) {}
Thanks,
MartinHello dplum,
that Jordan-b-peterson.mp4 video downloaded at 12.2 MB/s which I wouldn’t expect. When I load a file from AWS S3 in North America I’m getting 11 MB/s. Not long ago I would only get as much as 1 MB/s, so I guess something got upgraded in the connection over seas.
Or perhaps I should be testing this in the afternoon when the network is more busy. That’s the situation where a CDN would help.
It’s strange that he file has to be set to be public to let BunnyCDN server it if it’s configure to use the AWS S3 signed URL scheme with Wasabi.
Vimeo Unlimited Bandswidth has a Fair Use Policy: https://vimeo.com/terms#services
Wasabi is not the only S3-compatible file storage service, there is also DigitalOcean Spaces. We will check how we could support all of these.
Thanks,
MartinHello Ross,
FV Player Pro 7.4.31.727 is out and it fixes this issue.
We have a added this into the unit tests and integration tests, sorry about not catching it earlier.
Thanks,
MartinHello dplum,
that Wasabi + BunnyCDN guide does cover setup of “Enable AWS S3 Authentication” in BunnyCDN, so I would guess the files on Wasabi remain inaccessible, even if the bucket is public. Would that mean the files in that bucket can be freely listed?
BunnyCDN prices are at $0.005/GB for first 500 TB. That’s for the
“Volume Tier”. That’s 5 times lower than AWS S3 which costs $0.023/GB for first 50 TB. But AWS S3 is not even a CDN. CloudFront which is the CDN costs about $0.085/GB for first 10 TB.So BunnyCDN is a lot cheaper than AWS. I’m not sure how can Wasabi provide bandwidth for free, but with BunnyCDN you get a great service for the price and they also provide support.
Also, would the videos be fast to stream around the world with Wasabi? I don’t think their free bandwidth can be reliable for fast streaming.
Thanks,
MartinHello Egbert,
we did some tests and found that if https://www.example.com/article/56878/?s=test is provided, then it doesn’t pass any trailing slash for the referrer. But if you do include it in the URL like https://www.example.com/article/56878/?s=test/ then it is indeed passed.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Vimeo playlist (showcase) on FV has goneHello Jacqueline,
please update to FV Player Pro 7.4.30.727 which we released now.
We will add your case to our automated testing to make sure these shortcodes keep working.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Vimeo playlist (showcase) on FV has goneHello Jacqueline,
the old format of shortcode should still work. It’s not our goal to break what you did setup in the past.
I’m having a look at our code now.

Martin5 years ago in reply to: RTMP file not found – not working in previewHello Omar,
your website runs on https:// while your video hosting does not. So the videos won’t play no matter what browser you choose. It’s not a limitation of FV Player, as you noted Theo Player works the same way. Web browsers work this way to ensure maximum security.
Thanks,
MartinHello Andrei,
you are asking the right questions so it seems you are on the right path – the following snippet works for me to pause a video before it starts playing:
flowplayer(0).bind('ready', function(e,api) { console.log('ready!'); api.pause(); });
You can use your api in place of flowplayer(0). This should also help you with the playlists.
Thanks,
MartinHello Jose,
it doesn’t help if we can see that error on the website. What would help would be a full trace of that error.
Please check the PHP error logs directly on the server. If you are not sure about it, the server technical support should be able to give you a hand. It should list which PHP functions were called before the error occurred on which file and on which line number.
Thanks,
MartinHello dplum,
the domain in BunnyCDN settings box in wp-admin -> Settings-> FV Player Pro -> Hosting should be the domain you use for the CDN zone on BunnyCDN. The Wasabi domain needs to be configured as origin in BunnyCDN zone settings.
Like tcnet said, it doesn’t matter where BunnyCDN is pulling from, only the domain used by BunnyCDN is what matters here.
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: Amazon CloudFront with Download ProtectionHello Jörn,
it’s strange, when you have a moment please install this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/log-http-requests/ and then try to remove the license key, save the settings and then put it back in. Finally go o to wp-admin -> Settings -> Log HTTP Requests and look for the license check check HTTP request. It might end up with some error.
Thanks,
MartinHello Kendell,
the video can be paused and resumed as many times as needed. If you need to do a bit of troubleshooting, please test with a MP4 video without FV Player Pro or FV Player VAST enabled.
Thanks,
MartinHello tcnet,
so does that Wasabi + BunnyCDN configuration work for you? FV Player Pro only needs to know the token for BunnyCDN to be able to link to the video files securely. And the guide which you posted explains how to let BunnyCDN pull from Wasabi properly.
Thanks,
MartinHello Jose,
where exactly do you get that error? Does it appear when reading your posts with FV Player video in them or when editing videos in wp-admin?
Is that the full error and is there no detailed trace?
Thanks,
Martin5 years ago in reply to: html5 video not properly encodedHello Yairbr,
Juraj will have a quick look, in the mean time please check these video with the FV Player Video Checker and send us the report. Here’s how it’s done: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/how-to-use-video-checker
Thanks,
MartinHello Kendell,
you said the user will click some HTML and that will resume the video – you can easily find the player associated with that piece of HTML. Perhaps it’s nested in the player like a standard FV Player Popup would be.
Then you can call:
my_element.data('flowplayer').resume()
Or even just this if there is only a single player on page:
flowplayer(0).resume()

Martin5 years ago in reply to: Long Title & Meta Description not savingHello geffroi,
I was not able to reproduce the bug, but I fixed these JavaScript errors which were appearing when using Gutenberg. The character counts for description and title fields were not working.
It would be great if you could help us with the testing. Could you please reinstall the plugin from this file: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-all-in-one-seo-pack/archive/master.zip To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Do you still run into that issue when saving the WooCommerce Products? Does it work fine for standard blog posts?
Thanks,

Martin5 years ago in reply to: Amazon CloudFront with Download ProtectionHello Jörn,
we also finished the first version of a free FV Player Coconut which can be obtained here: https://foliovision.com/downloads/fv-player-coconut
It provides an automated workflow for encrypted HLS streams which cannot be downloaded using the standard browser developer tools or extensions.
It’s a free addon, so you can just log into your exiting foliovision.com account and get it. Note that you have to use the FV Player Pro plugin together with it to be able to get the video encryption features.
In case of any issues please check the documentation here:
1) Setup guide: How to Setup Encrypted HLS with Coconut https://foliovision.com/player/securing-your-video/setup-encrypted-coconut
2) End-user guide: How to encrypt videos directly in WordPress with Coconut https://foliovision.com/player/securing-your-video/encrypt-videos-directly-wordpress
Please let us know if you run into any issue when following our documentation.

Martin5 years ago in reply to: Error loading trascriptHello Kendell,
are you able to open that link in your browser? If so, then perhaps it doesn’t like the default user agent used by WordPress. So we could improve our routine to impersonate a real user browser better.
Thanks,
MartinHello Gal,
what you described is how things work now. We have prepared an improved behavior where videos only pause and do not unload for upcoming FV Player 7.5.
Thanks,
MartinHello Sven,
I removed these file paths from your message.
It would be great if you could help us with the testing. Could you please reinstall FV Player (not FV Player Pro) from this file: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/344-debug-db-player-meta.zip To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Then repeat the action which seems to trigger that error and there should be a detailed log of what happened in your WordPress folder named fv-player-db-player-meta-341.log.

Martin5 years ago in reply to: skipping button in pre-roll adsHello Yairbr,
what you see on https://foliovision.com/player/demos/roll-custom-video is the video ad skip button with the video thumbnail showing in it and a simpler count-down.
It was part of FV Player Pro Beta for a while. Now this change has been made part of the release version – in FV Player Pro 7.4.27.727.
