Hi Danielle,
Currently there are no options to change the look of DRM text.
The issue with DRM text is that we don’t want to inconvenience existing users with it but keep it visible at the same time.
If you have any suggestions what we could do to improve our DRM text feature, let us know and we will discuss it with our development team.
Thanks for being part of the Foliovision,
JurajHi Juraj,
My suggestion, should have two options, one for those who want to leave the (slow) view and the second as this. Because my project is for online course.
If you do not have the first or similar option, I will cancel the plan. Unfortunately!
It’s a great tool, the features are perfect, for example, fast DRM like this, which can’t read, doesn’t fit my project.
If there are any suggestions that may enable another DRM style function, to view and consult the user, please let me know.
I need to resolve as soon as possible to decide if cancel the plan.
Thank you for your attention.
Danielle
Hi Danielle,
You are missing the point of DRM. The point of DRM is to discourage professional pirates and not normal users. Professional pirates will certainly be inconvenienced more by DRM which appears periodically and briefly on varied parts of the screen at irregular intervals. That makes it almost impossible to block the information about who stole the video. A steady DRM mark is extremely easy to blur out even after screen recording.
If you would like to do your own custom coding for the DRM, we’d be more than happy to send you the info on how to modify the code yourself. Or just put DRM on top of your original videos if it’s that important to you (i.e. a watermark).
Martin will send you the hooks to create your own overlay over the video tomorrow. What you are looking for is watermarking not DRM. By making the overlay persistent, it’s extremely easy for a pirate to defeat using simple web development tools. Not that the current system is bulletproof but it’s subtle and effective.
Hello Danielle,
we added some instructions for adding custom popups into FV Player here: https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/api-programming#custom-popups
So you can put in a different code which would show the information you need and adjust the CSS to make it visible all the time and perhaps with some adjusted position and transparency.
Thanks,
MartinHello,
i use my videos into an online academy. I would need to change the color of the text, because we tech classes in a software with a backgroung in white. So the DRM is not visible.
The DRM function is why i´m using fvflayer.
Please, cand you send me the info on how to modify the code by myself?
Thank you, regardsHello Federico,
if we add an option for this, it must be done in a way that a slightly experienced web developer won’t be able to adjust the color by using the browser developer tools.
If we let you know where to change it, it must be done in a way that won’t be reverted when the plugin gets updated.
So this is not trivial. I’ll keep thinking about it and once I have something I will check it with Alec.
Thanks,
MartinHello Federico,
we talked about this and we would like to have 2 presets for the DRM text. One would be the current form where it’s hard to notice any appears in random corner of the video.
The other could be visible at all times and change position less often. I think we can just keep using some similar half-transparent font color to get started and see how it works for you.
Thanks,
MartinHello Federico,
we have added a preset setting for the DRM text which lets you use the Watermark mode in which the video overlay is always present. With the Flash preset it only appears for 1 or 2 video frames.
To get this new feature you have to switch FV Player Pro to Beta (here’s how https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/switching-fv-player-pro-to-beta) and then update to the latest version (7.4.38.727.beta). You can also grab a fresh ZIP from https://foliovision.com/my-licenses and switch to Beta afterwards.
Thanks,
Martin
