My VAST tag is not working on the FV Player VAST tester, but works on Google video suite vast inspector. Am I missing something?
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I was able to play the VAST tag in the Google video suite VAST inspector on Safari, Firefox and Chrome desktop browsers, but unfortunately not in the FV Player VAST Tester.
Is your ad unlocked also for our domain foliovision.com? And, did you make sure that all of the URL tags are in the correct form to work according to our VAST URL tags guide: https://foliovision.com/player/vast/url-tags?
If yes, and you’ll still experience the same issue, I’ll forward this to our programmer to take a closer look on what might be happening.
Thanks,
Chiara
The tag currently works as is on the FV Player VAST tester on Safari desktop and mobile as well as Chrome mobile, but I had to enter the tag on both the VAST URL and 2nd VAST URL fields. It does not work when I apply the same on Chrome and Firefox desktop browsers. The tag comes from Google ad manager, so it doesn’t look like it resembles any of the sample tags on the tags guide. Is there a certain way I should be handling tags coming from Google ad manager?
Hello Andrew,
the ad doesn’t play for me in our test tool https://foliovision.com/player/vast/tester and it doesn’t play for me in Google Video suite inpector https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads/docs/sdks/html5/client-side/vastinspector – it doesn’t matter if I used Chrome or Safari.
I tried to use a VPN in USA, but that wouldn’t help either.
I tried to enter something for description_url= and provide a correlator= value, but it didn’t change anything.
Are you sure it’s not restricted to your website domain only? It just kept giving back HTTP 400.
Thanks,
Martin
Works perfectly on Safari on https://foliovision.com/player/vast/tester. I uploaded a screenshot. I tried it on mobile Safari and Chrome and it worked as well. It just doesn’t work on Chrome and Firefox browsers for desktop. It also works in all browsers on https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads/docs/sdks/html5/client-side/vastinspector as seen on the uploaded screenshot. I’m just trying to figure out if tags exported from Google Ad Manager will work on those Chrome and Firefox desktop browsers before I buy. Thanks
Hello Andrew,
I got that same ad playing on Chrome and Firefox on Windows 7 now, see attached.
I see that previously I did use the URL which you atteched in this topic – with URL encoded { and } symbols. That way ut doesn’t work. But when I enter these the way you didn on your screenshot it works.
Thanks,
Martin
