Here’s a video you can test out. If you play the video, then click a chapter marker the quality will go to 240p but never change again.
I think I was wrong so could you take a look at the quality switching with Bunny Stream?
After looking at it further I see it’s some javascript on my site that is causing it. I should be able to fix it.

One thing I have noticed with the HLS stream is that the auto Quality switching works great if you click to fast forward anywhere on the timeline. But if I could a VTT Chapter Marker to advance forward the video will go to 240p and never change back to a higher resolution.
Have you seen anything like this?

I was able to track down the issue. Looks like BuddyBoss is using an old version of jquery for something. You can disregard this as I’ve found a temporary workaround.

Ok it seems everything is working fine now. Must have taken a little bit of time for the Vimeo token to completely start working properly or something.

Ok I have created a new Access Token and that seems to have worked. Now the auto setting for playing the videos is gone and my 4k resolutions aren’t showing in the player. I also had to hide the Caption by Css.

I had a few more people email about the File Not Found issue this week. One is on Chrome and the other on Safari.
I’ve had the plugin running for a few days now and no one seems to be having an issue. Thanks for all the help!

I have changed my website setting to not remove query strings so we’ll see how that goes.
I haven’t had it activated this week as I had too many people with issues and had to get some other work done.

Ok I see. It seems that the user needs to hard refresh the page or clear the cache for it to work properly I think.
Ok thanks for the update. I think it may have something to do with caching since I am using WP Rocket.
It works fine for me but a few people were having an issue. Two of them mentioned they were using the iPad on Chrome and IE 11 Windows 10 Laptop.

Not using the Alternative Referer.
Still having lots of issues with mulitple devices and browsers from customers so I don’t think I’m going to be able to keep it activated. Everyday it’s more emails about not being able to play the videos.

I had another person have an issue with the file not being found so I’ve had to deactivate the plugin for now.
He was using Chrome with Windows 10 on an HP laptop.
Seems there is an issue with Chrome on multiple devices as the issue I had was using Chrome as well on Windows 10 with a desktop.
I just had a customer say that in Chrome using an iPad Pro all of the videos are getting this message.
“html5: Video file not found
Couldn’t find the required video type: video/fv-mp4”Hope that helps.
I was able to fix it by going to the FV Player, then saving it with a different Vimeo URL then pasting back in the original URL. That seem to flush the cache or something.
I decided to try the plugin and it seems to work really well. I did come across a bug though.
There is one video on my site that comes up with
html5: video not found
Couldn’t find the required video type video/fv-mp4
If I deactivate the Vimeo Security plugin then the video will start working again.
If I leave the plugin activated then the video will not play at all even with a hard refresh.

Ok thanks for the info. I’ll think it over. The only thing I worry about is the database becoming bloated due to nearly a thousand users creating these bookmarks. It might created something that really slows the site down.
I’ve had some more requests for this feature. I know you can copy the links but people don’t want to do any extra work for keep track of these links.
With this much video, I find many people watch something and then can never remember where they saw it.
So was looking into this again.
Since there are now databases for the videos now, is it possible to store user created links created from the links function? Possibly that can be accessed from the player in a popupform.
Just curious how possible something like this is.

I was also browsing another bug report and noticed the same thing on another website so I think it is definitely a bug.

I basically want to give the user a YouTube style End Screen with links to different posts based on Category with thumbnail and a Title.
I updated to the newer player and that seems to be working much better. The customer also seems to have very slow and unreliable internet.

Hi Martin,
I’m not sure why that would happen as I’ve never changed the video and not any of the videos on the site will work when trying to copy the links.
The first video is a real estate video which I’ve never seen in my life and definitely wouldn’t be putting that on my site.
Something else seems to be going on it seems.

On this page I could not get the first video to load on the iPad either. I deleted all cookies on Safari in IOS 10.3 as well.

I tried it on IOS 10.3 and couldn’t get it to work. Most of the videos work on the site with the iPad but some videos I put on Vimeo about 5 or 6 years ago don’t work for some reason.
Yes I would like to see some way to add the titles back as the titles represented what you would learn in that video. Now you can’t just glance at them to see what you want to learn.

Still didn’t fix it. Might be the cache from within the plugin or something.
I don’t have it disabled. Not sure what is going on but have tried about everything. Maybe some kind of cache is not being updated.

That’s great! When I’m using the HLS links in Vimeo, I’m not seeing the speed control buttons right now. Are the speed control buttons compatible with HLS?
That’s great! Is it possible to use the Vimeo hls links for this? I already have Amazon setup but it’s still a mystery to how much streaming will be for it. Anyway I’m looking forward to trying it out.
I thought I would add another thought to this idea. If the resumable video was stored in the user’s account, then would it be possible to create a button that could create a bookmark within the video that could also be stored in their account?

One question. Does the loop start and end depending on the time stamp of the Chapter or the time between 2 chapters? I tried to set the length of the chapter and have it loop but it seems like it automatically loops the time between the start of the first chapter and the start of the next chapter.

Ok I got it to work. Do you think there is anyway to arrange them where there is no more than 5 at a time? Maybe 5 chapters and then 5 more next to them instead of all in a row?

Hi Martin,
That sounds great. I think it would be best to store that information so any computer would remember it but I’m not sure how difficult that would be. I guess you could store it in the wordpress user’s account and so it would only work if they were logged in which is great I think. That would also be another great way to get people to register for a free account.

It looks like this issue is happening again. I won’t mess with anything until you can take a look at it. There are some unhappy customers though and I have to do something that will fix this quickly.

I have been experiencing the issue and others as well. The error message happens instantly as it seems like the cache is trying the read the CDN from Vimeo which has been down a few times this week. Changing to a new api key seems to flush the cache I believe. Doesn’t seem like some of the videos will work unless you do that. It’s a weird problem.
I’ve gotten it to work again by changing to a different Vimeo key. Not sure what it is but some randomly cache and stop working seems like.
Anyway you can take a look at this soon. I have lots of angry customers.

It has to be a cache issue as the same videos on a different wordpress install works.
Doesn’t look like it fixed all of them as there are still some problems.

Is there anyway to delete the cache of the Vimeo Videos?
Seems like there is still an issue with some of the videos not playing. Is there any way to delete the cache? FV Player says there are 82 Vimeo videos cached.
