Hi guys. I was wondering if you could allow WordPress shortcodes to be used in Custom Popups that will happen at the end of a video. I’m trying to create a related videos style popup with a plugin I’m using to do this.
Thanks!
John

Hi John,
Martin’s right. Adding shortcode to the HTML pop-ups would mostly not work (it’s in the middle of a complex structure which means HTML and CSS needs to be customised for the environment) and be an ongoing support nightmare.
If it’s a form you want to put up, you should just be able to include the form code itself.
Cheers, Alec
Here’s the plugin I am using.

I basically want to give the user a YouTube style End Screen with links to different posts based on Category with thumbnail and a Title.
Hello Alec,
you can check the end of the video here to see how the popup would look like with the shortcode from that plugin is allowed: https://foliovision.com/2018/07/ether-kind-breeze
Perhaps we could integrate with the plugin – allow its shortcode and style it properly, or even make such function part of FV Player.
Thanks,
Martin
Hello John,
we checked this with Alec. While we could use a plugin like you recommended, but we would have to make sure each of the posts contains videos.
Ideally we could use some video meta data for determining realated videos and once user clicks a video load it into the player directly and not reload the whole post, although some users might prefer to get the full post to see the whole story.
Thanks,
Martin
