It seems after the latest CHROME browser update, HLS videos don’t play any more…
We use signed URLs vie ckoudfront.
It works still on all other browsers…
Chrome Version 146.0.7680.80 (Official Build) (64-bit)
also on your own HLS demo players, it is the same issue on Chrome (Edge works, with same chromium engine….)

Thank you for the bug report.
I was not able to reproduce the issue with Chrome 146 on Linux (Fedora), but will try with macOS and Windows in few hours.

Hello Michael,
Finally I was able to test latest Chrome on macOS. I tested on macOS 15.4.1 and Tahoe (26) and Windows 10, but did not run into issues with the playback.
Could you please let me know what exact operating system version you are using?

I am on Win11 Home 25H2I have all extensions of Chrome disabled, all graphic drivers updated, etc.
De installed chrome, deleted all user profiles, reset all flags, deleted all Chrome temp files, newly installed chrome, still the same…
Tried on another machine now, also Win 11 PRO 25H2
Chrome v 146, and there it works fine. Looks like a specific issue on my other machine in combination with latest chrome….

On the provided test page with the default test video it works all fine on Chrome.
I couldn’t try one of our own videos, because we use signed URLs.

We upgraded the HLS.js library from 1.6.9 to 1.6.15. Could you please try to reproduce the issue again on our demo pages?

Hello Michael,
I found that in HLS.js 1.6.11 the way the HLS decryption keys are loading has changed.
So we downgraded the HLS.js library to 1.6.10 which is the last version that works in the way we wanted and I contacted the developers to find out about their plans.

Yes, all videos play now, but the first and last videos in the list load repeatedly slow, (close to 10 seconds)

If you still run into the issue with Chrome 146 on your website, please reinstall FV Player from this link: https://foliovision.com/downloads/fv-player-8.zip It has HLS.js 1.6.10.
