can you add the feature to FV Player so it can play videos from bitchute?

Considering Article 13 of the new EU Law, we need this.
We probably won’t be able to reliably use you etc. It’s not just Bitchute, but https://bit.tube used the same decentralised technology. It’s ipfs video streaming I believe.
Please please please incorporate this, it would also mean people wouldn’t have to use Vimeo either and can save costs.
@Reginald A.
Decentralised IPFS (Bitchute/Bitube) is the silver bullet.
REAL.video has to deal will huge transcoding/bandwidth costs.
I like the platform, but an IPFS solution is much more cost-effective and censorship-resistant.Please please please implement this.. I’ll even post a free ad for FVplayer on my youtube channel for you guys!
hi
when I input the bitchute video address into fv playerhttps://www.bitchute.com/video/B4KIbuzeDsk/
I get error message:
“Video issues”
“flash: Video file not found”
Hi Reginald,
I’d like to support Bitchute as we support YouTube. YouTube becomes more stifling and censored every day to content creators. FV Player is a politically agnostic tool.
There’s no API right now for Bitchute as far as I can tell. We may be able to make Bitchute embedding possible anyway. We’ll take a look as soon as we can, probably next week.
Hello Reginald,
we are fixing some last editing issues currently.
If you have a test site where you would like to test our new Bitchute integration, you can reinstall FV Player from this ZIP file: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/134-bitchute-support.zip
To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Then you can use URL of Bitchute video like https://www.bitchute.com/video/xFqd1XKX2fo/ with FV Player and it will use that video MP4 file along with the splash screen.
Thanks,
MartinHey Martin
Really glad to here about Bitchute. One thing about Bitchute though is it’s currently limited to 360p.
Have you looked into integrating LBRY.tv as it seems to be getting a lot of traction lately.
It supports high res video, and is ‘very’ decentralized and as a platform seems to be growing quickly. I like the fact I can ‘seed’ or host my own content via the app.
I can already use their player using iframes, but you guys make the best player out-there imo, so would love to see you integrate them also.Hi Martin
I tested it out, it worked at first on Brave until I an edited the post and changed a video link (changed link to different Bitchute video) but now says video cannot be found. Still seems to be working on Dissenter but never worked on Safari.
Below is a link to the test post.
https://bombardsubscriptions.com/testy-folio/And below a video showing the issues I had.
https://bombardsubscriptions.com/video-issue/Hello rhys,
I mean is that video has sharing disabled on Bitchute. I checked a couple and haven’t notice any message like that, so I wonder what makes that video not work.
Hello Reginald,
let us know if you run into any video which won’t work, as rhys did report issues with one of the videos.
Thanks,
MartinHello rhys,
are you sure that video is entirely public? Is it one of your uploads?
I see it works in Dissenter – that browser is sending invalid HTTP Referrer header. Bitchute is checking that header on that video, so if it’s loading from your website it won’t play as standard browsers do set HTTP Referrer properly.
Thanks,
MartinHi Martin
Yes it’s entirely public.. below is a video of the settings.
https://bombardsubscriptions.com/bitchute-video/Hi Reginald,
Thanks for letting us know about the Bitchute playback issue. The big problem is there is still no API for reliably playing back Bitchute. Since we are grabbing the video via parsers, any changes to their source code can break playback.
Apparently there are other issues with Bitchute not looking after their users or content providers.
Regardless, we’ll get Bitchute playback up and running again soon.
“Reginald A. 2 months ago
hi
is it possible to add other players such as odysee and brandnewtube.com ?
or any others?thanks”
Hey Alec
Any update on odysee or perhaps rumble?
Not really a huge issue for me anymore as I just embed their players instead and they run flawlessly. However it would be nice to be able to use FV player considering it has additional features that could be leveraged etc.
I don’t care to advertise FV player any longer as per our discussion last year, due to lack of follow up on requests for updates. However it sounds like some of your other customers also want the feature.
Hi rhys.
Let’s see if we can add enough support to the various YouTube alternatives first to make promotion of FV Player worth your while. I’m not happy that we don’t have wider support for more sites. I despise the YouTube, Facebook, Twitter monopoly on social media and more so now that they’ve truly shown their colours, openly censoring several heads of state.
It’s up to software like FV Player to make it easier for publishers to publish independently and freely.
Hello rhys,
you can test the FV Player Bitchute integration by reinstalling FV Player from this ZIP file: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/refs/heads/134-bitchute-support-II.zip
To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
When we were testing the integration about a year ago we found that about 1/2 of videos didn’t work.
Now we tested 5 videos and all of them worked so far.
We are also working on adding Odysee and OK.ru.
Thanks,
MartinHello rhys,
the OK.ru and Odysee support will be added to the next FV Player Pro version.
It would be great if you could help us with the testing – just deactivate and delete the FV Player Pro plugin you are using, then hit “Install Pro extension” at the top of the wp-admin -> Settings -> FV Player screen.
Then switch to Beta using wp-admin -> Settings -> FV Player Pro -> the “Release” drop-down menu at the top. Detailed instructions can be found here: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/switching-fv-player-pro-to-beta
Then you will be able to insert OK.ru and Odysee videos. No configuration is required.
One thing which we are fix is retrieving the video splash screens automatically.
Thanks,
MartinHello Rhys,
Our licensing system allows you to insert your dev site into the same license as your live website.
This article contains all the information you need in order to do so https://foliovision.com/2020/06/staging-site-licenses
Let us know, if it is suitable for your use case.
Thanks,
MariaHello Rhys,
please upgrade FV Player Pro to latest version and switch to beta (here’s how: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/switching-fv-player-pro-to-beta )
Then the OK.ru and Odysee videos will work.
Thanks,
Martin
