Hi Viljo,
Based on our previous conversation on live chat, I tested the videos on your website on Microsoft Edge on Win 10 and also on Internet Explorer 11 on Win 7, but there were no errors.
It would help if you could let us know from which country you are from and also if you have turned on the Enable MPEG-DASH in Settings > FV Player > Hosting tab > Vimeo (Pro).
Thanks,
Eduard
Hi Susie,
The problem is that some of the CDNs Vimeo uses for distributing videos in the MP4 format sometimes do some trouble in some regions. I’m not sure, however, if the problematic CDNs involve Estonia.
Activating the MPEG-Dash should help, as it runs on a different CDN with also a backup CDN in place and therefore is without any trouble.
Thanks,
Eduard
Hi Susie,
I hope that the MPEG-Dash helps. By the way, you can track your videos and also video errors through Google Analytics. Here is a guide on how to use FV Player with it – Using Google Analytics with FV Player.
Thanks,
Eduard
I’m definitely running into a similar/same issue with a lot of my Vimeo hosted videos in the US. I’ve tried enabling and disabling MPEG-Dash.
What’s weird is the simply replacing the shortcode inside WP seems to fix it, but this does happen kind of frequently and I don’t have the energy to replace 200+ shortcodes on as many pages everytime this happens.
Any thoughts or ideas?
Hi Rob,
We have fixed this issue today in our API by improving the management of the Vimeo MPEG-DASH initial segments. Please install the latest update of FV Player Pro (0.9.11) and swich it to Beta, that should fix it.
Thanks,
Eduard
Eduard,
Thank you so much for the reply and for the tip about MPEG-DASH (which I’ve been using for a bit now).
I figured out that CloudFlare’s “Rocket Loader” was messing up the Javascript on the page. I disable it and everything seems to be working normally now.
Hopefully this helps any other CloudFlare users running into the HTML 5 error.
Thanks again for such a great product and for the support!!
Rob
