  • Sideeque 5 years, 8 months ago

I have upgraded FV player from version #6.6.6 to 7.4.6.727. It caused me following 2 issues.

    1) Video player play icon displays multiple times.
    2) I have a gravity forms plug-in in same page which display a modal popup window. FV player in this page blocks the modal window popup also. Same gravity forms modal window popup works in other page with other plugin except this page where FV player is used.

When I rolled back to old version of FV player( #6.6.6), everything works fine. Does anybody had same issue or there any solution or work around for this?

    Hi Sideegue,

Please try to re-save the plugin settings and that should fix the issue. The CSS code is cached so some issue like this could appear, although it is set to regenerate anytime you switch the theme or domain.

If it won’t help please follow these steps: Go to: Settings -> FV Player -> Integrations/Compatiblity -> Disable saving skin CSS to a static file. Turn this setting on.

For the pop-up blocking issue please follow these steps:

    1. Open your website

    2. Open a javascript console in your browser.
    Here’s how:
    https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors#Step_3:_Diagnosis

    3. Repeat your action and check if some error appears

A link to your website with such problematic video could be really helpful for us. As well as your system info. You can find it at: Settings -> Tools -> System info. You can simply copy it into this thread.

    Thanks for using our player,
    Juraj

    Hi Juraj,

Thanks for the response. I’ve tried 1 and 2. 1 didn’t help and there are no javascript errors. Regarding 3, could not share our website information as client doesn’t agree that.

    Thanks,
    Sideeque

    Hi Sideeque,

If you can’t show us an example on the sample website, this conversation is over sadly. We are not playing around. This is work for us and we help people who come to work and not to waste our time. FV Player is a plugin for public facing websites so there is zero excuse not to put up a sample page.

    Hi Anumol,

As Alec said, without a sample page it would be really time consuming for us to find a helpful answer for you. I am worried that we’re unable to help you without any further information about your website.

    Thanks for understanding,
    Juraj

    Hi Alec/Juraj,

I have created a sample page which shows the issue.

    1) https://35.173.184.26/ : I have a test video with FV Player and Subscribe popup. The Subscribe popup is not loading here.

    2) https://35.173.184.26/nofvplayer/ : I have NO FV player but only Subscribe popup. It works fine and no issues.

I have no issue if I go back to FV player old version #6.6.6
Let me know if I can provide you more information

    Hello Sideeque,

    1) Video player play icon – I see your theme is adding in some custom play icon. We are happy to fix this issue on your website if you order or Making FV Player work with your theme service.

    2) I can see the modal window with Gravity Forms won’t load properly – it’s covered by FV Player lightbox. That’s because it’s trying to act clever and it also hooks onto the Colorbox markup. The reason for that is that Colorbox was the previous lightbox library in FV Player, so we wanted to retain backward compatibility that way.

I tried to fix this, you can reinstall FV Player from this link and clear your browser cache and see if it helped: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/master.zip To reinstall FV Player you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.

    Thanks,
    Martin

1 ) This extra icon issue comes only after I upgrade FV player version. If i downgrade, no issues. I would prefer use old working FV player version then.

    2) I will try out this. Do you plan to to release this fix in any future version?

    Hello Sideeque,

    1) Perhaps you can figure out what was the CSS change which caused the issuewith your theme. We didn’t had anybody else report this issue yet. It’s true that there was a change in player HTML code – we now use proper image tags for splash screens – the advantage is that we can support image lazy loading that way.

    2) Hopefully it works for you, if not, it would require a deeper look. Perhaps it’s simple enough and we could cover that in that “Making FV Player work with your theme” job I was mentioning.

    Thanks,
    Martin
