New Year’s Eve 31 December 2021 was another strange one. Theoretically in Bratislava there was an 20h00 curfew. Bars and restaurants were closed until the next day. Happily it was a mild evening so people were out early, enjoying themselves. We would buy drinks from the restaurants and drink them at sidewalk tables. Most special was the music. Concerts have been cancelled for a long time, but thanks to the mild weather, street musicians were out in force and were able to perform their best. Particularly this pair, who performed traditional Czech and Slovak singer-songwriter songs. I was sorry to have only my iPhone and not my Nikon Z6 in my bag but the event was unexpected. “Máme jen sebe” is a beautiful song I believe you’ll agree. Here’s my translation of the words:

With the words it’s even more beautiful. The performance was a fabulous moment live and opened up some new music to explore in 2022.
