Those shortcodes aren’t displaying properly. Here are the examples on pastebin: https://pastebin.com/hLgUChjq
Hi Martin
Scan video length is not enabled. We disabled this function when we started using FV Player, because posts wouldn’t save at all.
Publishing and updating posts only take long to complete if the shortcode for fvplayer is present in the post content. When it is not used, the load time is normal (less than 10 seconds).
We use the shortcode mainly with YouTube videos like for example:
[fvplayer src="https://youtu.be/Fh8_2zQZ3xM" splash="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Fh8_2zQZ3xM/hqdefault.jpg" caption="911 GT2 RS world record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Full onboard-footage."]
[fvplayer src="https://youtu.be/qYCRhPXWP_M" splash="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/qYCRhPXWP_M/hqdefault.jpg" caption="Crane 鶴 학"]
[fvplayer src="https://youtu.be/5DAfojMVvKs" splash="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/5DAfojMVvKs/hqdefault.jpg" caption="‘Vaselinetjie’: Om te soek na hoop en ʼn eie identiteit"]I’ll be able to provide more feedback from Monday next week.
Thank you
Hi Martin
The shortcode is only used in the main content of posts. It happens on publish for new posts and update of existing posts.
Thank you for looking into this!

Any news about the progress delivering VAST ads on embedded YouTube vids?
Thanks
Kobus7 years ago in reply to: Delivering ads with expired licenceThank you for the feedback Martin. You guys are awesome! We’ll organize the renewal next week.
Cheers
Kobus7 years ago in reply to: Delivering ads with expired licenceHi Martin,
That’s good to hear, thank you!
-K7 years ago in reply to: Delivering ads with expired licenceGreat stuff, thank you Martin
We have some impressions outstanding because of the expiry of the licence. We would like to complete the campaign as soon as possible. Do you maybe have an ETA please?

Kobus7 years ago in reply to: Delivering ads with expired licenceThank you for the feedback Eduard.
We want to deliver ads on embedded youtube videos in mobile browsers. It is for more than 60% of our page views. This functionality is currently disabled with the latest version of FV Player VAST. Do you guys plan on bringing back this functionality? This will determine if we renew our licence.
Thanks again

Thank you for the feedback.
The changelog reads:
“Mobile – stopping VAST ads before YouTube videos on Android – at least for now as it doesn’t work reliably”By “stopping”, do you mean that no ads will be served on embedded YouTube videos anymore?
Do you maybe have an ETA for a permanent solution?
Thanks again

Your insight from the outside was exactly what was needed. Thank you for helping us troubleshoot and for your patience.

Kobus :)Hi Eduard
Thank you so much for attending to this issue. I’m looking forward to the update.
Keep well
KobusHi Eduard
Thank you for the feedback. The problem is that all the videos on our website have different durations. This is not a solution for us.
Do you maybe have a different solution please?

KobusHi Martin and Alec
Thank you for clarifying and explaining your thoughts about Jetpack and WordPress.com.
I have to say, if it wasn’t for Photon, the traffic on our site would be 65% higher and we would need to beef up our cluster of 5 VPSs to serve our 1 million visitors per month even more.
The other components of Jetpack are useful as well and I trust the coding standards applied in the plugin.
It wasn’t my intention to start a debate and I will certainly take your concerns to hart.
Thank you for the support!

KobusHi Martin
Thank you for the feedback.
I do not understand the issue with integrating with WordPress.com. Please describe the problem that causes your resentment towards the Jetpack plugin.
You shouldn’t advise the WordPress community to modify plugin files, because changes will be lost on update.
I’ll contact Jetpack support for further support on this issue. Thank you for having a look.
Best regards

Thank you so much for adding the option to the plugin! The WP REST API is still heavily under development from what I understand and we’re a bit concerned about it’s security at this stage. This setting makes our maintenance a lot easier.
Thank you for your help.
Keep well
Kobus8 years ago in reply to: Video player absent in RSS feedHi Martin
Thank you for updating the iframe version! Next time we’ll check the changelog for important security updates before updating and decide if we’d rather stay on this version.
Could it not be a setting in the plugin to switch the iframes on or off? That would make updating a lot easier for us. How are the other users embedding the VAST player in their apps?
Regards
Kobus8 years ago in reply to: Video player absent in RSS feedHi Martin
The RSS-iframe version above seemed to do the trick, but the latest version of fvplayer removed the iframe. We upgraded in case there were security fixes.
Having a user click the link to play the video in a browser is an okay plan-B, but ideally it should play in the app.
Would it be possible to please add the URL to the original video inside a hidden field as part of the post content? This way, the app developer could parse the content and create the player himself, or at least embed the original video without ads.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Best regards9 years ago in reply to: Google DFP integrationHi guys
I purchased the VAST extension for FV Player and the pre-rolls are working well on embedded YouTube videos. It wasn’t even necessary to define the ad-unit in the HTML <head>.
Thank you for the help.
Kobus9 years ago in reply to: Video player absent in RSS feed9 years ago in reply to: Google DFP integrationWhere in the FV Player configuration must the DFP ad-unit URL be specified? DFP’s tag generator generates die URL for the ad-unit and looks like this example:
https://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/gampad/ads?slotname=/124319096/external/ad_rule_samples&sz=640x480&ciu_szs=300x250&unviewed_position_start=1&output=xml_vast3&impl=s&env=vp&gdfp_req=1&ad_rule=0&vad_type=linear&vpos=preroll&pod=1&ppos=1&lip=true&min_ad_duration=0&max_ad_duration=30000&cust_params=deployment%3Ddevsite%26sample_ar%3Dpreonly&url=https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads/docs/sdks/html5/tags&video_doc_id=short_onecue&cmsid=496&kfa=0&tfcd=0
When that URL is input as a video URL on the Settings page in the Video Ads (Pro) (Beta) block, an error is displayed in the player that the video doesn’t exist.
9 years ago in reply to: Google DFP integrationI’m specifically struggling with the video container div which ID changes for each player. Normally banners are initialized in the <head> with the javascript:
210237261957879f5d433eb_000000gptAdSlots[0] = googletag.defineSlot('/path/to/video-ad-unit', [640, 480], 'ad-unit-container-id'). defineSizeMapping(video_640x480_mapping). addService(googletag.pubads());
but FV Player keeps generating random IDs like wpfp_257d93a48edfd1afa6842bb357e50582:
<div id="wpfp_257d93a48edfd1afa6842bb357e50582" class="flowplayer no-brand is-splash play-button is-youtube" data-embed="false" style="max-width: 640px; max-height: 480px; " data-analytics="UA-00000000-0" data-rtmp="" data-ratio="0.75" data-ad_show_after="0" data-engine="fvyoutube"> <video poster="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/DGVlee80dCk/maxresdefault.jpg" preload="none"> <source src="https://youtu.be/DGVlee80dCk" type="video/youtube" /> </video> </div></div>
Any help would be appreciated.
