Hi guys
We’re currently successfully serving pre-roll ads on the VAST player through DFP. We now want to add post-rolls to our videos as well.
The only options I can find to do this are here: /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=fv_player_vast. Only the method to add a mid-roll is described: “Linear ad placement – Add midroll=”60,600″ to your shortcode to show your ads as mid-roll at 60 seconds and 1 hour (600 seconds) in the main video.”
How do I add a post-roll? See attached.

Hi Kobus,
To set up the post-roll, just use the midroll=”” tag in the shortcode and set the ad start on the last second of your video. Take a look at this demo.

Thank you for the feedback. The problem is that all the videos on our website have different durations. This is not a solution for us.
Do you maybe have a different solution please?

Right now, we are working on integrating a global setting for both pre-rolls and post-rolls, that will be available in the plugin’s settings. It should be in the next update, that will come out in a week or two.

unfortunately no, we got bogged down by some other tasks and there was not enough demand for this.
I think to keep it simple this could work as a simple global setting for start (like “Show ad in pre-roll” and “Show ad in post-roll” global settings checkboxes). Then later on we could even allow you to specify a different VAST tag for the post-roll placement.

Yeah, a checkbox is perfect. I know a few advertisers that are using Playwire because they have that functionality. So this will be a hit as it can be monetized. More incentives to your FV Player.

we have worked on this and on iOS it’s a bit tricky – you really just can’t start an ad without user interaction… unless the ad starts muted. So these post-roll or mid-roll ads will just play with no sound unless user hits the unmute button.
