Hey folks,
As of this morning it seems to be impossible for me to play vimeo videos in safari (on my laptop) with the foliovision player. This worked fine last week.
Google chrome still works 100% fine.
I tried:
– Removing all cookies
– Emptying cache
– Quitting and restarting browser
– Loading the page in incognito modeWhen I click “inspect” in safari I can see there’s an error stating this:
‘Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)’ https://vimeo.com/414842644This specific video is hidden but set to be embeddable anywhere to rule out a problem with domain authentication.
I included screenshots of safari (1 of the page and one of the error) and one screenshot of chrome where you can see that the player is playing.

Hello Robert,
If you try to access the source vimeo url via browser it lead’s to an empty page. But in that case it’s strange that the video plays without any issues with Chrome.
Is your site hosted locally? Is there a way for you to send us a link to your page where we could test the issue hands on? Also, what does your Admin Video checker show you with both Chrome and Safari?

I managed to reproduce the error on a clean wordpress install that I pushed to a flywheel staging site so you can see it.
If you go to this url:
(redacted)You will see the vimeo embed.
I tested on my new Macbook pro 16 and my girlfriends older Macbook. Same result.
This is clean wordpress, foliovision plugin plus pro extension, enable vimeo, don’t change anything and use the shortcode to embed te video on the website.
If you need to actually log in to the admin I have to send you credentials another way, but since this is a 100% clean wordpress site you should be able to reproduce this anywhere.

I checked your video on http://tw….staging.com and it plays for me. I’m using Safari 13.1.1 on macOS 10.14.6. Please let us know what version of Safari and macOS are you using.

Ah, apparently my safari is 13.1.2
And mac os is 10.15.6It might have to do with the latest update because I had 0 problems and did not change anything on my website, but my mac did update itself a few days ago to this latest version…
The video on your website does work by the way.
The problem persists on my staging website and the one I sent you guys. Still no video in safari and chrome works perfectly.
If I disable mpeg dash the problem also disappears.

I see macOS 10.15.6 with Safari 13.1.x has some issue with your video. The bug is somewhere in Dash.js library which is part of FV Player.
FV Player 7.4.33.727 is out now and it fixes the issue – it has the older Dash.js library in it where the issue doesn’t occur.
