New Pro install not playing Vimeo videos

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Troubleshooting › New Pro install not playing Vimeo videos

  • Steve B. 10 years, 5 months ago

Hi guys! I’ve finished installing and setting Vimeo app, per your instructions. Upon using check template, I receive the following. I’m a novice with WordPress. Please advise on how to fix. Thanks!

Url of page containing player: http://www.wolwvideo.com/dekalb-county-high-school-sports/

    Error messages read:

It appears there are no Flowplayer scripts on your site, your videos might not be playing, please check. Check your template’s header.php file if it contains wp_head() function call and footer.php should contain wp_footer()!

It appears there are no jQuery library on your site, your videos might not be playing, please check.

    Hello Steve,

you need to enter your license key to enable the Pro functionality, here’s how it’s done: https://foliovision.com/player/user-guide#license

Then the Vimeo videos should play.

Other than than, everything appears to be fine on your site, I’m not sure why the “Check template” fails. Perhaps your web host doesn’t like the automated check.

    Thanks,
    Martin

Thanks! I entered the license key and added the custom logo. However, the first vimeo vid from the list I select to play seems to load indefinitely and does not play.

Also, I’ve added a number of other videos, and none of their thumbnail images display, and those vids won’t play either.

    Please advise…

    Hello Steve,

let’s solve the issue with videos not playing first.

I can see that all the Ajax requests to http://www.wolwvideo.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php fail. They get HTTP error 500. Could you please check your php error log to see what happening? Perhaps some of the PHP commands which we use is not permitted on your server. Your web host should be able to point you to these files.

Alternatively you can enable both WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG as in this WordPress.org tutorial: http://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress

Sorry about the inconvenience, this is an edge case which we haven’t encountered yet.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Steve,

could you please try if this works if you don’t use a playlist? Or if the playlist is smaller, like 2 items only.

Please let us know, we want to make this work for you.

    Thanks,
    Martin

I removed all of the playlist items except for one. Same result.

Then, I removed all the playlist items and left a single vid and encountered the same result.

It appears the vimeo vid three-dot indicator continues indefinitely and the video never initiates. It was the same problem from when I started the thread

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello Steve,

after further investigation we found out that your server doesn’t have cURL for PHP installed. You will ask your server technicians to install it and we will us WP HTTP class for better compatibility of our plugin.

    Thanks,
    Martin

Upgraded and installed curl and vid will now play. Please confirm on your end everything is in order.

Also, in exploring Floplayer, I’ve not found an auto-import feature for new vids and thumbnails to be added to a playlist when we upload them to Vimeo. Please advise on how to enable this auto-import playlist feature.

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

    Hello Steve,

we will be adding a feature which will fetch the most recent videos from a Vimeo channel into a playlist (or a list of videos).

    Thanks,
    Martin
