Turn off social sharing for members area

Hey guys .. so I just noticed that my player now has social and email share options in my player near top when hovered over. I recently updated the plugin but didn’t notice at first. I had the embed option checked and unchecked it but they didn’t go away (what is the embed option for?). How do I get rid of these? My flowplayer is in my members area and I DO NOT want people to be able to share this. I did a test through email and even though the link only brought my to my login page this is not something I want on my player.

Note: I have a paid pro version of the player.

Hello Steve,

could you please turn on both “Disable Embed Button” and “Disable Sharing”? We posted about this to our blog when the feature was released.

Please let us know if that doesn’t help (we tested it on multiple sites with no issues).

I am having the same problem with a Membership site. All of a sudden this sharing feature shows up and I don’t want it on my protected content. I am NOT using the pro version, and the option to disable Sharing is not showing in the Sitewide Flowplayer settings area. Is the option to disable sharing only available in the Pro version? I really need to turn this feature off.

Hello MaryAnn,

the option was moved to: Settings -> FV WordPress Flowplayer -> Player Skin -> Disable sharing.

I also updated this in our article.

Hello, I’m using the latest build of the non-pro version. I have disabled embedding and sharing, but the sharing bar still shows. I’ve tested on FireFox and IE.

How to I remove the share buttons from the top of the video?? These videos will be members only content and so I don’t want them to be shared.

Hello Brian,

share bar (and embedding) can be disabled in Settings -> FV WordPress Flowplayer -> Player Skin -> Disable sharing.

Thanks Martin, But I can’t find the disable sharing button on the Player Skin page. Has it since been moved somewhere else?

it’s in Settings -> FV Player -> Sidewide Flowplayer Defaults -> Disable Sharing.
