    Hello Martin.

    I tried your plug-in with qtranslate on a website with custom post types. The post types unfortunately don’t show your plug-in options in the Post Edit page. Works for Pages though. Otherwise looks like a very useful plug-in. Thanks for the elaborate comparison to other WP Multilanguage plug-ins Post you did. I using WP 3.4.2 with qtranslate 2.5.32

    Regards,
    Bernhard

    Hello Bernhard,

    thank you for your report, it really helps.

    We will check this out and add the capability for custom post types, but I can’t promise you when it will be done as our schedule is full right now.

    Let us know if these features are important for your work and you can donate this project and contribute this way to open source (you can use the donate button here).

    If you know a bit of PHP, you can also use WP function add_post_type_support to add out editing box to your custom post type.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Look for:

    load_plugin_textdomain(‘fv_seo’, false, dirname(plugin_basename(__FILE__)));

    add this line below it:

    add_post_type_support(‘[your_custom_post_type_slug]’, ‘fv_seo’);

    … look for:

    add_meta_box(‘fvsimplerseopack’,__(‘FV Simpler SEO’, ‘fv_seo’), ‘fvseo_meta’, ‘page’);

    add this line below it:

    add_meta_box(‘fvsimplerseopack’,__(‘FV Simpler SEO’, ‘fv_seo’), ‘fvseo_meta’, ‘[your_custom_post_type_slug]’);

    This *seems* to work fine for me. Use at your own risk :)

    Hello Konrad,

    thank you for the code sample!

    It looks good. Other way of doing this is by hooking into admin_menu and adding the meta box there in a new plugin:

    add_action(‘admin_menu’, ‘fv_tweak_admin_menu’);
    function fv_tweak_admin_menu() {
    add_meta_box(‘fvsimplerseopack’,__(‘FV Simpler SEO’, ‘fv_seo’), ‘fvseo_meta’, ‘[your_custom_post_type_slug]’);
    }

    Thanks,
    Martin
