Hi I have 2 questions one being a how to:
First the chromecast button is basically the only reason why I purchased your video player, but Im having an intermitted problem, the cast button only shows up sometimes.
If I go to a video sometimes it will show, sometimes it won’t. Also simmilarly to another user question it does only show on the last video on this page https://foliovision.com/player/demos/align-settings
How do I get it to always show the cast button when it is available ?Second How to question :
How can I move the Cast button to the controller bar simmilar to the fullscreen button. I don’t want the cast button to be at the top right as I have other things overlaying on the video.

Hello Johan,
please let us know what video types you are using. The videos on https://foliovision.com/player/demos/align-settings are all using Vimeo, which might be why it’s not 100% reliable.
I’m not in the office today, so I will be able to test Chromecast only tomorrow unfortunately.

I only use Youtube and HLS,
On both I have really unreliable resaults with the cast feature, sometimes it shows sometimes it don’t at all. sometimes it will come up after you let the video play for a while. Its very weird and I don’t know how to get it to show everytime.
I also had it come up and when I connect it to the cast it starts the video on the tv and when you click anything on the player it play the audio on the phone as well as continue the video on the tv. and then I can’t stop it until I disconnect the cast, then the cast button is gone again.
I have checked now on one HLS video, the cast button only appeared after playing the video for 22 min.
Ok so I have done a lot of tests, On my HLS video, if I play the video and there is no cast button, and I move of change the resolution of the chrome tab like move the tab to another screen of grab the tab move it down then drop it then the cast button appears.
Youtube videos just never show the cast button nomatter what I do.
Also here is links to 2 videos showing what happen with the Cast button on both HLS and Youtube, I named the videos accourding to the video type.

I can also confirm that when I have more than one player on one page,
The chromecast only loads on the last video, these are HLS video formats. Same thing applies I still need to Pull the screen down to have the Cast button appear, but it only works on the last video the first video does not show cast button at all. Also the screen pull does the same on mobile as well as on lightbox.

I can confirm that I’m getting the same bugs. It must be an issue with our Chromecast version which we improved to work with Vimeo.
Unfortunately it can’t work with YouTube as we use their player API which doesn’t provide this.

So I won’t be able to cast youtube videos?
But I can cast youtube embed videos ? Why would I then need your player for that ? It seems impossible to just find a player that can properly cast videos.
Also when I cast a HLS video no matter where you are in the video, it always starts from the start on the cast! I have tested this on other players also and it can keep the position where you start the casting, instead of starting from the begining. How do I fix this.
I think I will need to download and reupload youtube videos firstly I think its basically just as illigal as to remove the branding? but it is such a pain in the ass.
When can I expect and update on the Chromecast Problems? Im still struggling with the casting of this player. Its really reaching stage where my entire project is at a standstil. I don’t want to continue adding any content if this is not the player Im going to use.

we have fixed the following issues:
* Chromecast button only appearing for last video – you can test on: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/align-settings
* Chromecast button not appearing for HLS videos – you can test on: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/hls-streamThe first one is actually a core Flowplayer issues, so I’m happy that we resolved it.
These will go out in the next release, which might even be today.
It’s true that the videos always start from start when you enable Chromecast. It would be a nice improvement.
I’m not sure about moving the button to the control bar. It could work if you use the YouTuby skin – otherwise there wouldn’t be enough space for these buttons on mobile. Perhaps we can detect that and put the button there.
