I managed to get the Cast Button on my mobile but not on the desktop site, When I connect to the cast via my mobile it tries to connect to the Cast and the tv shows a loading line then it closes the connection. There must be some type of user agent or something to allow the chromecast access ?

Well, it still works on Youtube and countless other websites like dstv now. I have also tested my own links with bitmotiv (bitmovin) Player it works still on their v7 video player they are on v10 already. I have tested it with theOplayer it works still with that player. Im pretty sure it will work with JW Player also. I have tested it with a lot of things and the article you refer to is from 2018 meaning that if it completely killed it then there is no way any other player should work. So whether its inteded for desktop or not, Im using chromecast everyday of my life via mobile and desktop and it just works. Chomecast works with a receiver and a sender so I personally think what your giving is a bad excuse. As the player is doing the same on Mobile as it is doing on Desktop.
The article you send was to do with seting up the cast like install it, you install it via Google Home app. Its been the easiest way to do it since I and millions of other people started using the cast. This has nothing to do with the Casting feature on Video players that use a Sender and Receiver.

All those videos show the cast button! On all the videos.
Non of the videos exept for the Test Stream and Live stream HLS videos actually cast through to the Chromecast on the tv. Might be the permissions on the other videos preventing them from casting.
Is there an update for the video player that is on the HLS Stream Link ?

Yes we’ve probably found what’s causing these issues with casting already. We’re currently working a fix for that.
