A quick question thought: Do you plan on adding support for Yoast SEO Plugin?
I was planning to use “excerpts” as “meta-description.” Would you recommend this? :)

Hi Sid,
We wouldn’t recommend using excerpts as metadescription as excerpts don’t exist for pages since about WordPress 2.2.
I’d recommend you use our FV Simpler SEO instead. You are a lot less likely to get into trouble than with Yoast’s everything but the kitchen sink SEO Plugin.
That said, FV Descriptions should work with Yoast’s plugin too.

Hello Sid,
we are working on a revised version which will detect what SEO plugin you use and automatically give you those fields. If your SEO plugin won’t be in the list, you will be able to configure the field names manually.

Martin@Alec — Thing is, I have configured Yoast SEO Plugin such that some of the URLs have been stripped — archive pages URL, for instance — and deactivating this plugin might invent new issues which has had me worried.
I’ll see if I can try FV Simpler SEO plugin this week. Sounds promising, Alec!
Oh, and the FV Descriptions plugin doesn’t update the Meta Descriptions of Yoast SEO Plugin. Maybe it’s just me?

I am having problem with the plugin … i have set the title for every page in my WP website and they all are fine just one page is missing the title but when i visit the page from my dashboard the SEO yoast contains title for that page just it doesnt appear …. can anyone help me please?
Hi Sid,
That’s why no one in his or her right mind should use Yoast’s Plugin as you are making your site dependent on a plugin. Plugins should retire gracefully and use core WordPress tables as much as possible.
Turning FV Simpler SEO on and off will not damage your site, unlike most of the other WordPress SEO plugins out there.

I’ve used the Yoast plugin on a number of sites and never had an issue. However, developers are building a site using the twenty-eleven theme and it is messing up the entire layout of the page. Anyone experience this? Any suggestions? At a loss as this is the first time I’ve seen this issue. Thanks in advance.

Ryan, throw that piece of over engineered Yoast crap out and use FV Simpler SEO.

the FV Simpler SEO plugin uses all the standard WordPress functions. You haven’t included the information about how your theme portfolio is build – are you using pages with custom templates or a plugin?
Anyway, this is not something that should break because of our plugin. There might be other issues with your website. Let us know if you are interested in professional plugin support for your website.

I’m not using the FV Simpler SEO plugin. I’m using the SEO plugin by Yoast. I have the template called Veles Premium theme which I purchased at themeforest.net. The portfolio within this template is disappearing when I activate the SEO Yoast plugin. Why is this?

Frankly Allan, we don’t give a toss what happens when you enable Yoast’s overly complicated and dangerous SEO plugin.
I’d suggest you move to FV Simpler SEO and enjoy reliable and safe SEO instead.
The headline just said “Support for Yoast SEO Plugin”. I therefore thought that you were able to answer.. I’ll give the FV Simpler SEO a try.

I still have problems.
My problem is when I want to optimize SEO on my portfolio page in can’t. I have filled out the SEO boxes but it won’t work. It seems like the veles theme isn’t compatible with the FV Simpler SEO plugin.. :/Can you help me on this?

it’s hard to tell where the issue could be. Perhaps the portfolio in the Veles theme is using different template and our plugin is not able to reach it.
If you are interested in really making this work on your site with your set of plugin, you can still use our professional plugin support. It’s a good value package, as we will let you know where the problem is and then the author of template will be able to fix the problem in the template, if there is any.
