Custom toolbars gone after last upgrade

Foliovision › Forums › Foliopress WYSIWYG › Bug reports › Custom toolbars gone after last upgrade

After upgrading to the latest version, my custom toolbars reset to defaults. I can’t upgrade on other sites if this will happen every time.

Is there a way to upgrade and retain the custom menus? It looks as if custom menus use a different formatting than previously, however when trying to enter in items in the Custom Toolbar field, it doesn’t seem to take.

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hello Matt,

sorry about the issues. The new version uses CKEditor which is a lot faster than FCKEditor, but it also brings up these differences.

We tested what we could, but for cases like this, we included a notice appearing below the upgrade message on the plugins screen.

We will have to include some check in the upgrade if there are unsupported toolbar items defined.

The custom toolbar configuration however works. Perhaps you are entering some button which has a new name. I documented the new available toolbar buttons here: http://foliovision.com/seo-tools/wordpress/plugins/wysiwyg/installation

    Thanks,
    Martin

I think I got it figured out. The 2.0 upgrade took the brackets out of the list, but left hard returns in there… Where before, a “/” was the indicator of a new line, and it ignored returns, the new version uses the hard return as an indicator of a new toolbar row.

Once I got that figured out, it looked pretty much correct.

I did find that it was missing some of the important buttons, however… unless the names of them are different in the new version? For example: Full Justify, Font Size, Anchor and Horizontal Line. None of those showed up, even though the code is in the custom toolbar settings.

Until those are available, I’ll have to keep using the old version.

Thanks for updating it… it is, indeed, a lot faster! Can’t wait until it’s complete.

    Hello Matt,

I tested this and Anchor,FontSize,HorizontalRule are working.

However JustifyFull is not. That was not in our documentation, so I updated that.

    Thanks,
    Martin

Ok, so looks like the name of JustifyFull has been changed to JustifyBlock, if I’m reading that correctly?

You are right about the others. They do appear to be working. Not sure what I was seeing before. :)

    Hello Matt,

you are right about JustifyBlock, I updated our documentation with it.

However these buttons add CSS class to the element rather than inline styles. Instructions for what CSS should be added for these features to work are included in the Settings –> Foliopress WYSIWYG page, but of course we will try to make it as seamless as possible. We just believe there shouldn’t be any inline styling and classes should be used for everything. That allows easier design adjustments in the future if you ever change your template.

    Thanks,
    Martin
