We have an exciting announcement to make for WordPress Elementor users. FV Player now includes an advanced Elementor widget for FV Player, which will make working with video in Elementor easier and more fun. The Elementor widget is available to all users of FV Player.
FV Player has long offered basic Elementor support. The existing widget simply allowed Elementor users to include FV Player shortcodes into their Elementor site with basic preview.
The new FV Player widget can now be found in the “Basic” Elementor Widgets.

We had to make a decision about whether we would bring the full FV Player interface into the Elementor widget. In the end we decided not to, as
the dedicated FV Player interface looks harmonious in an Elmentor environment abandoning the dedicated interface would be a slightly worse user experience (our custom interface is what we consider ideal for posting advanced videos with ads, subtitles, transcripts, playlists) existing FV Player users would be confused when switching between the non-Elmentor and Elmentor version of the plugin.
What we did was bring the essential features directly into the Elementor toggles like enable autoplay, turn on/off control bar, set start and end times, even change splashscreen. Advanced users will manage captions and transcripts in the normal way in the dedicated FV Player interface.

In our example we picked one of the videos from Vimeo, so the splash screen and video title was set automatically:

It also has the “Style” tab available where the video picture can be adjusted or “Advanced”. This new widget still uses the FV Player database, so all your videos keep being stored in the same place.
When a publisher would like use more advanced features, to build a playlist, or add subtitles, s/he should click the “Configure Player” button which brings up the standard FV Player Editor:

Our new Elementor widget will be available Wednesday 17 September 2025, as Alec’s birthday present to WordPress video publishers. We would like to thank Pianogroove publisher Hayden Hill for the idea for the advanced FV Player Elementor widget and for sponsoring its creation. Hayden is an fine jazz pianist and a fantastic teacher who founded and built the world’s largest dedicated jazz teaching website in the world, Pianogroove.com.
