We had a great time at WCEU 2017 in Paris last week! We learned so much from the people we’ve met, especially at the Contribution Day which was a big success, and then attended great talks by WordPress experts and just enjoyed the amazing atmosphere at Les Docks Paris. If you were one of the volunteers, thank you for a job well done!

Out all of the talks we attended, Anna and Sany especially liked Marina Pape’s lessons learned from Marketing WooCommerce, Heather Burn’s very important talk about protecting the Internet neutrality. Martin enjoyed Alain Schlesser presentation about demystifying the WordPress Bootstrap process and Otto Kakalainen’s talk about improving WordPress performance.
Wordcamp Europe was a perfect opportunity to improve our knowledge of WordPress, get new ideas and exchange existing ones with people facing similar questions and issues.
The conference was a bit far from the heart of Paris, so we hope you had a chance to enjoy some sightseeing and tourist activities. We stayed at an apartment in Monmartre and just next to it we found a great French restaurant/wine bar called Lucien La Chance, beautifully decorated in a shabby-chic way, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner.
Enjoying a night out
We find the best way to get to know the city is to act local. Fortunately for the Foliovision team, Alec used to live in Paris, so we had our own tour guide. His good friend Stuart works at a great wine shop called Le Repaire de Bacchus at 122 Rue Saint-Dominique, just next to the Eiffel Tower and he helped us choose some fine French wines for our picnic on the Champ de Mars with a view of the Eiffel Tower.
There’s more to life (even at Foliovision) than project management
We talked about the good life and enjoyed great wine and cheeses, surrounded by couples in love and families enjoying the sun and Paris. This was Sany and Martin’s first visit to Paris and it sure was memorable and not just for them, but for the whole team.
