I think I finally got what I wanted :)

It took 1 minute to set it up. I hide the videos from Vimeo search and only allow my domain to play them.

Alec I have 3 more questions I believe are the last ones :)

1 – What do you want to set for me in Vimeo?
What is the benefit of using Foliovision along with Vimeo? Are there any features that I don’t have access to right now?

I am simply embedding the videos. According to Vimeo they are 100% secure since I have set so they are only play-able from my domain name.

2 – Is there anything else I need to worry about security-wise?

Tonight I am going to give Cloud Front a last shot before switching to Vimeo :)

Thank you for your replies. The videos I record are:

MPEG-4 movie
1280×720
H.264, AAC
HD(1-1-1)
I m not sure if it is pal or ntsc!

I use Adobe Premiere for export. Usually the videos I export are noised. Not good quality and take between 1 and 30 seconds before the player starts playing.

My export options are:

– Bitrate Encoding options:
VBR, 2 pass
VBR, 1 pass
CBR

– Target Bitrate (Mbps): I set this to 2

– Maximum Bitrate (Mbps): I set this to 2

– Frame Rate: I set this to 25

At the end of the day Alec I just want the videos to be played without any delay. I really don’t care what service we use. Vimeo or Coudfront. As long as the link to the video is secure (and they cant copy paste it) and videos play fast I’d be happy. I have another big email going out on 27th of April. If you help me have it 100% by then (either Vimeo or S3) I’d be more than happy.

On your home page you say “Why a video player at all and not YouTube or Vimeo?”. Maybe I am not understanding you.

Alec I tell you what I want hopefully you can tell me what’s the best choice.

I have a membership website that members who pay can watch videos.

I thought S3 and cloud front with Foliovisoin pro player is the best choice. I paid $70 + $150 so far but things didn’t work out. I haven’t been successful to have the videos without delay or some other issues that I notified you.

About Vimeo:

Is Vimeo secure? Where am I going to save my files? How is the player? Is it reliable?

With CodeIgniter I can set the simple membership website but I need video player to play the files from s3 Cloudfront. Martin said few days ago he can set it up but he didn’t mention a price or time line.

Can you please let me know (or speak to Martin about it) and see if you can provide a reliable player for a Codeigniter site?

I have set up the Amazon and Cloud front just as the instructions. But it doesn’t work properly. At one point there was a problem with the player like Martin mentioned in 1 of the posts above “1) The RTMP check for Amazon CloudFront RTMP was fixed.”

So I am not sure what’s the problem. I have set up the S3 and Cloud front. I just want it to wrk fast like your website.

1 – About “I’m getting slow speeds from your Amazon S3 server, but it’s located across the whole globe, so it’s no wonder.” I can see the videos on your website really fast with no delay. I am sure there is a reason these are slow. How can we find the problem?

2 – I don’t want the video to be accessible by public! It appears now they can just copy and paste the link so they can access it! I assume this has something to do with signed urls. I looked in your website but couldn’t find signed url documentation. I am not sure what went wrong there can you please advise?

3 – About Cache:

Like you said I installed Super Cache. I wasn’t sure what to set the cache time out to. So I set it to 3600 seconds as it’s recommended.

The videos on the website will be anything from 1 to 50 minutes. I set the Foliovision’s Default Expire Time to 7200 as it says set it to twice Super Cache’s value. I hope that’s right.

2 – The ipad error: Even when I add the direct link it doesn’t work on Ipad. The Ipad version is 7.1.2(11D257), MODEL: MD531B/A and iOS 8.2
