No. Think we have a bit of a misunderstanding. :)
So – as per the example in the link.
The video embed at the top of the page is
div id=”player”
The URL for it is provided by a custom attribute in the post editor.
Another way of saying it, I think, is how do I get FVplayer to render the “player” Div id instead of the youtube or vimeo embed?
I have the options:
Handle WordPress audio/video:
Parse Vimeo and YouTube links:but it doesn’t seem to work on the videos at the top of the page.
Thanks.
So, in the link example – the video post type is selected, you enter a YouTube/Vimeo URL in a metadata box, and the video is used instead of a featured image in the theme.
I thought I saw an article sort of explaining this on the site here, but can’t see to relocate it.

8 years ago in reply to: Hide 'skip advert in' noticeThese are in reference to video ads I am adding myself – in the video ads tab. I could set ‘Enter the number of seconds after which an ad can be skipped.’ to 120 seconds – but still get that notice at the bottom right of the screen – it’s that notice I want to remove altogether.
Understanding regarding the progress bar – I guess what I am really after is a control bar that works like vimeo, youtube, VLC and other player where after a couple of seconds it fades out of the way – so you can still control the video (back/forward/pause/play) but not have a moving graphic element permanently at the bottom of the video.
8 years ago in reply to: ThumbnailsThough – this does bring up another question – is there any advantage in utilising the direct file link in vimeo instead of the ‘standard’ one.
As the traditional embed/link has a thumbnail while the direct file link doesnt…
8 years ago in reply to: ThumbnailsThat did it.
Removed the whole of the shortcode, then reinserted it and it works.
I take it I need to do a thumbnail in the same ratio as the video to get a full screen? I.e. 16:9?
Thanks.
8 years ago in reply to: ThumbnailsNo – and a direct copy and paste of the link works – http://gearlocker.nz/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/GOPRO4__MGL0003.jpg
Do you think getting rid of the underscores on the file name might help?

9 years ago in reply to: Videos won't play through player?9 years ago in reply to: Video ad double up?Ok. New issue.
If I now turn on both pre and post ads – pre ads, no issue, post add randomly selected, it turns the entire video playing beforehand into an ‘ad’ – meaning people can’t skip it and they get the ad dialogue in the bottom right of the screen.
Have turned off any post roll ads for the meantime.
9 years ago in reply to: Video ad double up?Perfect. Looking good!
9 years ago in reply to: Video ad double up?Yes. Though more specifically, it seems that a random ad plays, then followed by the gearlocker ad (I don’t think the second one is random).
The first has the advert countdown dialogue on it, but the second seems to load just like a normal video – almost as if it was set up in a playlist (which I don’t believe it is?).
Thanks. Will let you know.

9 years ago in reply to: Ads at beginning and end of video playback? No need for anything to be displayed on the site frontend – rather – just a field above the link and video urls, so when I want to remove one, I don’t have to figure out what link related to what. I realise some could be deciphered from the link url. No major, just a little convenience…
9 years ago in reply to: Ads at beginning and end of video playback? Also, while I am wishlisting… a way to name the ad link/code would also be useful..
9 years ago in reply to: Ads at beginning and end of video playback?Yes, correct.
I would then leave the random ads at the beginning of the video playback and just have one video set to play after the video.
9 years ago in reply to: Hiding the “this ad will end in…” messageNo problems. Thanks.
Kinda
Is it possible to get rid of the progress bar while playing the vid (so we can have just a clean video playback) but still have the controlbar so the viewer can skip through the video?
9 years ago in reply to: Hiding the “this ad will end in…” messageThat would be good.
I realise I might be using it outside of normal.
I am not really using it as adds – simply an update from the site at the front and the site ‘titles’ at the end.
Will just chime in on this as well – will code to remove it – but would make for a great option?
