I see all this mention of Wowza, surely Fv player has no issues playing an rtmp?? I’m exhausted at this point looking thru everything. I’d really appreciate help situating vps to work with all the $ I put into this player, specifically for rtmp. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I looked at firewalls/ips, formats, converting, securing. When I have everything else working. My birthday is coming up this month. All I want, is for this to work. I’m so ready to stop stressing and just stream…, and it’s fantastic if I’ll even have no issues displaying google adsense ads, otherwise this was all for nothing..

    Hello Extramillions,

It’s great that you were able to setup the RTMP streaming to your NginX server and have it stream is as HLS.

If it works for your in VLC, then the issue might be with the CORS headers.

If you check the browser console when playing the stream with FV Player you should see an error message regarding CORS or origin check. It’s not a requirement of FV Player, any desktop web browser will require these CORS headers. With exception of Safari.

Please report the video with our video checker: https://foliovision.com/player/troubleshooting/how-to-use-video-checker

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Extramillions,

As I mentioned earlier you can check the browser console when playing the stream with FV Player. You should see an error message regarding CORS or origin check.

This is not a requirement of FV Player, any desktop web browser will require these CORS headers. With exception of Safari.

You can also check your NginX configuration to see it you have the part with Access-Control-Allow-Origin in it.

Also, are you absolutely sure you are using the proper HLS link with FV Player?

I need to check if we could take care of this as a Pro support, since it goes beyond just the WordPress software and it requires NginX.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Adam,

We think the issue may be a missing SSL certificate.

If you’d like us to set up the nginx streaming server with OBS and hook it up through FV Player, we’d be happy to do it for you as a Video Encoding Support.

Otherwise, we’re also happy to answer your specific questions. You should go through the Digital Ocean RTMP setup guide and make sure you’ve done all the steps. This guide is missing the SSL part (which is important to make sure. Here’s some tips on setting up the SSL.

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for your additional posts. Now that we understand better the structure of what you are trying to set up, I’m afraid we would not be a suitable technical partner for your project.

Still you should be able to DIY following those Digital Ocean guides I shared higher on this thread.
