Hi Foliovision Team,
I’m trying to get the lightbox to work on my website countryguitaronline.com. Here’s a test page https://countryguitaronline.com/testing-light-box/
The video audio will play but the lightbox doesn’t pop up. Is there a trick to getting it to work that I’m missing? Or can you tell if there’s maybe a plugin conflict?
Really appreciate it!
Devin

Hi Devin,
First of all, thanks for using our player! We really appreciate your work.
Not to get to your problem. Have you followed our guide when trying to set-up the lightbox feature? Here’s a link to it. Just please make sure everything is set right in you FV Player settings. If the issue still occurs there’s a chance it’s caused by some type of plugin conflict as you said. In this case we need to see your System Info. You can find it at Settings -> FV Player Pro -> Tools -> System info. Also, have you used the lightbox feature on you website before this issue happened? Or it’s the first time you are using lightbox on your site ever?
Thanks!
JurajHi Juraj,
Thanks for the reply. I did follow the Folivision documentation for setting up the lightbox feature. I tried it once more a minute ago and the lightbox popup still seems to be getting blocked on my test page https://countryguitaronline.com/testing-light-box/
I’m trying to attach the system info file to this support forum thread using the “Upload Images” button but it won’t let me upload a .txt file. I’ll send my system info file to support@foliovision.com.
I have not used the lightbox feature on my website before this. I’ve only used the standard video player.
Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks!
DevinHello Devin,
I can see the issue – your theme already has fancyBox in it. Are you using that fancyBox/lightbox effect anywhere?
Could you please reinstall FV Player from this link? https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/10813322-fancybox-forcing.zip To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Then enable the Settings -> FV Player -> Integrations/Compatibility -> “Remove fancyBox” setting and let us know if it helps with your issue.
The problem is that your theme is using fancyBox 2, so we can’t just use that script.
Thanks,
MartinHi Martin,
Thanks a lot for the help. I tried everything you said…deleted FV Player and reinstalled the download you sent. When I enabled the “Remove fancyBox” setting, my website appeared to have a conflict of some sort. The first thing I noticed is that my main page image was gone…I have a parallax image that I added using the Parallax Backgrounds for VC plugin. Also, it seemed like the WPBakery grid builder wasn’t showing the grid of my lesson posts. Will I need to remove this downloaded version of FV Player and reinstall the original version?
Is there another option for adding the fv lightbox js? Maybe registering the code in my functions.php file in my child theme?
Thanks again,
DevinOk, I installed the previous version. I have a custom fields plugin installed and have it setup where I can add custom js to the head or just before the closing body tag on a specific page. Is there a way to add the lightbox js to one specific page?…so I won’t have to load a new script on every page of my site. I really need the FV Player lightbox to work for a page I’m putting together and I’d be willing to get Pro Support through foliovision if needed.
Thanks,
DevinHello Devin,
it could work that way, or to be more precise – that “Remove fancyBox” setting could be only applied to that single page based on the Page template.
But that would really be just a bandaid and it would increase the complexity of your website.
One thing I noticed is that your theme bundles some jQuery progressBar plugin in the fancybox.js file. That is likely the reason why enabling the “Remove fancyBox” setting in FV Player did break parts of your website.
If you order our Pro support, we could fix that for you, but in reality it’s more up to the theme developers. Why did they stick jQuery progressBar into the file for fancyBox? If it’s put into a separate file then you would be able to enable “Remove fancyBox” in FV Player without breaking your homepage and so on.
Thanks,
Martin
