Can't see YouTube video in widget or page

I inserted the Youtube URL in the widget but can’t see the video on my page. Did the same from the FV shortcode link and video will not show up on page either. Only regular Youtube embed link works.

    Hello EJS,

does it work with MP4 videos? Could you please send over the URL where we can see the issue?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Have not tried MP4 and we don’t have the video file, only video link. The widget is on the sidebar on our site but used with embed code at https://oilmanmagazine.com. When we use the FV link option the same area on the frontend is just a white space. Right now I don’t want to leave a huge empty spot where video should play on my site. My WP theme is up to date with the latest WP release.

    Hello EJS,

unfortunately we are not able to reproduce the issue.

What is the shortcode you have in your FV Player widget?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Ok, tell me exactly how should I use a Youtube video link with FV? In the widget I open edit and a popup opens with a field for video. Shouldn’t I place the Youtube URL in this area? If so, when I do, nothing shows on the frontend but a blank box the size I set the pixel dimensions.

    Hello EJS,

you can check our YouTube guide here: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/youtube-with-fv-player

I’m not sure what could be causing the issue here. Are you using https:// for the YouTube link?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi EJS,

Martin is away on holiday for a week starting today so we might be a bit slower solving this issue than normal. We’ve some plugins start to block javascript for other plugins. Make sure to remove it for testing if you a minifier on your javascript or in your caching plugin.

If you have any additional notes, please post them here in the meantime. For production, you are best off using the iframe solution (which you can enable in global preferences) until we get this solved.

Could you please let me know under what email you bought your pro license as I can’t find a license for either your email address or the oilman domain.

    Thanks.

    Alec
