Border appearing using Lightbox

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Troubleshooting › Border appearing using Lightbox

  • Hoshang S. 6 years ago

    Hello,
i have a problem using the video lightbox option. The video becomes large by clicking on it, but it contains a border on the right and below, which i don’t want. If I select “Remove fancyBox” in the menu, the bar disappears, but then I cannot open any windows of my homepage that do not use video-lightbox.
How can I prevent border by using the video lightbox option without being not able to open my other page?
See the image for better illustration please.

    I hope for your help,
    Hoshang

    Hi Hoshang,

This issue is probably caused by some of your plugins or by your theme using the FancyBox libraries. So, when you turn it off globally in FV Player settings, the other plugin/theme starts to miss the FancyBox’s JavaScript and will eventually break. Most of the time.

To clearly see what causes the issue, we need your system info.

    You can find it at:
    WP-Admin back-end -> Settings -> FV Player pro -> Tools -> System info
Just simply copy the whole info and paste it here. (it won’t be public)

    Thanks,
    Juraj

    Hello Hoshang,

if enabling “Remove fancyBox” breaks your homepage lightbox windows, please try to enabled Settings -> FV Player -> Sitewide FV Player Defaults -> “Use video lightbox for images as well”.

I also see we could be improving the “Remove fancyBox” option to only work on pages which include FV Player. I’m going to prepare that improvement for next FV Player version.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Hoshang,

actually it’s not so easy, please let us know if the above helps and if it all looks right. Does it solve the issue with border at least?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hallo Martin,
it works by enabling to enabled “Use video lightbox for images as well” option.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hello Hoshang,

so to sum things up – the fancyBox provided by your theme is affecting the FV Player fancyBox styling. Using the FV Player “Remove fancyBox” avoids that issue and then enabling “Use video lightbox for images as well” makes sure FV Player loads the fancyBox library at all times which suits your theme just fine as it needs it. Without that fancyBox library some homepage functions would be broken on your site.

    Thanks,
    Martin

Martin, I’d prefer we focused on disabling theme lightbox technology and imposing our own lightbox everywhere. If the publisher wishes to manually troubleshoot his/her own lightbox, then that’s an additional development burden for that publisher to carry. Trying to sneak in the back door by checking pages and just disabling occasionally will make lightbox conflicts complex and random. I don’t want that.

    Hello Alec,

done, in the upcoming FV Player if you enable ‘Remove fancyBox – Use if FV Player lightbox is not working and you see a “fancyBox already initialized” message on JavaScript console.’ settings then fancyBox from FV Player will be included on all pages.

    Thanks,
    Martin
