Splash image at the end of video

[Solved]

    Hi there,

is it possible to reactivate/show the splash screen once the video playback has finished? Where would be a good place to start for a modification, in case it’s not a built in short code?

    Thanks for your great work!

    Jens

    Hi Jens,

this functionality is not implemented yet. If you feel like doing it, then it would require some additional coding in models/flowplayer-frontend.php, probably modifying $popup_contents around line 84, and maybe also the window.flowplayer(‘wpfp_$hash’).onFinish function which is on the line 88.
Thanks for your suggestion, we will consider adding this feature in the future.

    Hi Jens,

we included the reactivation of the splash image after the video finishes playing. The release just went out, you are welcome to check it out.
Just include the “splashend=show” into the shortcode. Please notice that the image has to have the same dimensions as the video, as there is no stretching applied.

    Hi Jens,

to complete this topic I would like to note that this functionality has already been added into FV WordPress Flowplayer.

splashend=show not working and I have made sure the image size is the same as the video. The splash image works but the splashend=show does not.

I even has the latest 1.2.17 I installed just to make sure.
Everything else works fine but the splashend=show does not.

    Hello steven,

thank you for reporting the issue.

I found that there was a mistake in the code. I fixed the issue, the splash image now shows up at the end of the video, when you add splashend=show to the shortcode, or use the insert video dialog.

I added the fixes to the latest version on WordPress.org, so if you remove the plugin and add install again from WordPress.org, it should work.

    Martin,

    Thanks for the update.
    However, some bug.

    The video is 520×320.
    The splash image is fine.
But the splash somehow is smaller .. about 482 x 272 give a take a few pixels.

    Odd …

    Hello steven,

there must be some CSS issue. You might want to diagnose that. You can try to do a preview with different template and see if it’s better. Or you can use our professional plugin support, we will be happy to resolve your issue and let you know what was causing the issue, so it won’t repeat in future.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hey there,

I can’t get the splashend=”show” to work. Youtube displays the annoying suggested videos instead. Is there a work-around?

    Many thanks!

    Ryan.

    Hi Ryan!

The free version of the player uses Youtube embed so basically you get Youtube player embedded on your site. And hence the splash end wont work. It will work with self-hosted video. Or alternatively you can get Pro extension which uses advanced implementation of Youtube API and this way you can host your videos on Youtube and get our custom player.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
    Lucia
