Hi guys,
I’m new to Flowplayer and it’s just great! One thing I’ve noticed though is that the player skin is not transferred to fullscreen in Chrome on desktop or android like it is with Firefox or Edge in fullscreen. Instead the native Chrome skin is used.
https://foliovision.com/images/2017/01/chrome-video-player-design.jpgThis appears to be the same for the videos on foliovision.com so it’s not something unique to my setup. On flowplayer.org it does work – the player skin is used for fullscreen on Chrome desktop and android.
The native Chrome player also has a download button which I’ve been able to hide using css but it would be great if the player skin could be used instead. I’d be interested in your thoughts.

Thanks for the bug report! I did a quick test and I can see the customized skin in fullscreen, both in Chrome and Opera on desktop. I got the same results as you on Android, though.
Could you please specify the version of your OS and browser you were using?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I found the chrome-for-android related problem in flowplayer/fv-flowplayer.min.js on line 25
flowplayer.conf.native_fullscreen = true;
I changed this to
flowplayer.conf.native_fullscreen = false;
and now my custom skin shows in Chrome on android and on my desktop.
The Flowplayer.org version referenced at the top of this file is 6.0.5 (2016-01-13). Maybe a more recent version might have corrected this.I checked the foliovision demos again on other desktops and the custom skin works fine appears to work fine in fullscreen just like you confirmed – Version 56.0.2924.76 beta (64-bit)
On my pc your demo videos still use the native browser player in fullscreen but that is because I use a mobile emulator chrome extension.
In any case my custom skin is now showing fine in Chrome for android and desktop after making the above tweak.

Thanks for testing this issue on your end. I’ve discussed it with our programming department.
The restriction of the custom skin for full screen on Android was installed because devices with version lower than 4.3 were slowed down, so the player switched to native interface.
However, it has became quite obsolete, so we will be probably taking it down in the future updates.

That’s great. It certainly hasn’t slowed anything down when I tested on the Note 3, Tab 10 or S6. If anything, switching over and back between standard and fullscreen is more responsive, Also, enhances the FV player branding and removes the chrome native player download button without having to hide it with css. :-)
