PLS and M3U radio playlists

[Solved]

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › Requests and Feedback › PLS and M3U radio playlists

If this player can play radio playlist formats in PLS & M3U such as the Shoutcast/Icecast plugin, then I would diffidently buy. All I need is a simple Radio Player and would consider getting rid on the JWPlayer if this one worked on the FF/IE/Opera and the iPad/iPhone too. thank you kindly for your support and Happy Holidays! ;-)

    Hi Britt

Martin was supposed to get back to yesterday with some detailed instructions.

Our audio implementation is deliberately basic and we would recommend that you’d choose a dedicated audio solution if you need advanced audio. Just by reading the description of the plugins below, you’ll see how much different the requirements are for an audio player than a video player. We are dedicated on being the most feature rich and easiest to use video player for WordPress.

Here’s the two WordPress audio players we recommend:

    Free:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/compact-wp-audio-player/
    http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-audio-music-player-plugin-4556

    Free with Pro version:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/html5-jquery-audio-player/
    ‘http://www.enigmaweb.com.au/plugins/html5-jquery-audio-pro/’

Let us know how it goes.

    Hello Britt,

looking at your playlist file (as your used the video checker to report your issue) – you can open it, extract the individual audio track and put it into our player. Since it has no file extension, you will need to add it with “#.mp3” at the end, like this:

    [fvplayer src='http://pubint.ic.{your stream domain}.net/stream/pubint_kbut#.mp3']

That will play just fine and will work if the playlist only has one item which you need to play.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Martin, Hello Britt,

I try desperately to make audio streaming with flowplayer … But it does not work.
I tried your ” #.mp3 ” solution wich is good for mp3 (static files), But not the audio stream …

What to do for example with flows like this:

    1 – http://streaming202.radionomy.com/frequence-terre

    2 – http://listen.radionomy.com/frequence-terre.m3u

    Thank you for your attention.

    Hi Fred,

Please see my post above for recommended audio plugins. FV Flowplayer is focused on being the best WordPress video player and we recommend a dedicated audio player for advanced audio features.

    Thanks!

    Hi Martin,

A solution worked for me #. Mp3. Thank you very much.

    Now the big question:

I can serve advertising during the broadcast audio streams, according to parameters from REVIVE OPEN adserver?

    Thank you again.

Was wondering if any of your players will stream internet radio stations that are mostly in the M3U or PLS format?

    Martin 7 years ago

    Hello Britt,

    these are not currently supported.

I checked that and it wouldn’t be to hard to create a parser for such files which would present them as a FV Player audio playlist: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/mp3-in-fv-player#playlist

You can check how a FV Player playlist shortcode looks like, or wait for us to update our documentation on the new FV Player JSON init codes.

    Thanks,
    Martin
