Hello! I have the FV Player Pro version up and running and it’s working great, except that I’m having an issue on iPhone. When I view a YouTube playlist like your sample here:
https://foliovision.com/player/demos/youtube-playlist-supportOn desktop, when you click a thumbnail it begins to play that video. This makes it easy and intuitive to jump from one video to another. Just click another thumbnail and it starts loading/playing that video.
On iPhone, if I tap a thumbnail it loads that video’s splash screen (sometimes I have to double-tap) but does not begin playing. And at that point, if I try tapping on other thumbnails, nothing happens. I have to tap “play” on the loaded video, THEN tap another thumbnail.
I’m afraid this will be confusing for users, who might feel like the player is stuck on the splash screen that has loaded and don’t get any kind of response when they tap other thumbnails. It’s not intuitive to have to start playing the loaded video (by tapping inside the large video) and only then choose another thumbnail.
I had this same issue in both Safari on iOS 9.1 and Chrome on iOS 8.4.1. (both were iPhone 6)
Is it possible to make the thumbnails autoplay when you tap them? I know you can’t have a video autoplay on page load on iPhone, but can it autoplay when you tap a thumbnail – would that avoid this problem?
Or is there a setting I have missed? I have tried to look through all the documentation and options.
One way around this is to just load the playlist in lightbox mode, but my client would prefer not to do that. You still have to tap twice in lightbox mode (once to pop up the video and once to play it), but at least it avoids the sense that the user is stuck on a certain video. But again, we prefer the setup like on your sample page linked above, without the lightbox.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
