Hello dear Foliovision team,
I use the FV Player Version 7.3.17.727.beta in Beta Mode to make my videos available securely with the additional plugin from you “FV Player Vimeo Security”. I’ve been using this version since its release (about three weeks now). I use the “Enhanced Security Option” and the “Alternatice Referer” for the Vimeo (Pro) settings in FV Player Pro. So far everything works fine for me (except that the videos via Chrome don’t play with Ipad Pro – which isn’t so terrible) – the videos are as far as I can check very safe against downloads and piracy. I have seen that there are new versions of the FV Player Pro. Can I update my version without problems. What has changed in particular with regard to my use case? I’m afraid that something won’t work properly with the new version because I currently have a lot of customers and can’t allow me a failure, especially at the moment.
Another question is: I don’t see any statistics about the use of my videos on my Vimeo page anymore, as it was the case when i was embedding the vimeo videos directly on my site with the vimeo player. Is this normal with the FV-Player Pro and the security extension of the videos to not get any statistics about the use of the vidoes anymore? If yes, is there an alternative to getting statistics on the videos to keep track of the usage of the videos?

Thanks for your feedback and your kind words.
You should be able to update the *beta* version safely. But please wait for additional confirmation from Martin before doing so.
Vimeo statistics: no, playback from outside the Vimeo player doesn’t count for Vimeo views. It’s partly a way to motivate people to use their player (why I don’t know) and partly to stop publishers from faking views (and overloading their servers while publishers are at it).

you can upgrade to the latest FV Player Pro and then switch it from Beta back to Release. That way you won’t be getting all the beta updates that are not important for your website.
One thing that is missing is the auto-update mechanism for the FV Player Vimeo Security module. We are going to simplify the licensing for these module plugins to make sure you don’t have to enter different license keys one by one for each module.
