VimeoPro label

[Solved]

Hi guys. Thanks once again for your work on this fantastic player!
Regarding VimeoPro; when I use the vimeo video’s page URL as the source for the in my website player, everything works fine, including quality switching, but what I don’t like is that when the user mouses-over the video, it says “Vimeo…” and some other video-specific information. It doesn’t look like an anomaly, it looks normal. But I don’t want Vimeo to be labeled in these video embeds. When I just use a single source URL from vimeo pro, then the player doesn’t disclose that the source is vimeo. But if I put the Vimeo video’s page URL (in order to get quality switching) then it discloses/reveals “Vimeo” when you put your mouse over the video window. Is there an edit I can make to a CSS file that stops it from doing that? Thanks a lot!
    Tim

    Hi Tim,

We strongly advise against using Vimeo fixed URLs as they can change. If you use the default Vimeo addresses, we update the URLs automatically via a player update.

We can look at removing more Vimeo branding.

What do you mean by “Vimeo’s fixed URLs”?? Do you mean the independent URLs they provide for each format so that we can use 3rd party players? Or do you mean the URLs for the video’s page?

    Hi Tim,

Sorry I thought you were hard coding the hidden URLs. If they are URLs which Vimeo hands out to you for use in third party players, they shouldn’t break. On the other hand, our player is set up to add additional functionality if you just use the Vimeo address.

Again you are trying to outsmart the technology and making your life much more complicated. We are working hard to provide you with automated functionality. When you do it long hand, it will all function of course, it’s just a lot more work for you.

No, I’m not hard coding the URLs, just what Vimeo provides. Thank you for the warning though.
I know that your player takes a lot of work off a publisher’s hands; it’s quite amazing that way. The issue for me though is the Vimeo branding when interfacing with the player as an end-user. I know it seems like an insignificant detail, and I’m sure in most cases it is a silly thing to consider. But for my purposes it’s kind of important that my branding is exclusive.
