Use colorbox link in theme/template

Hello!

Is there a way to use the colorbox lightbox inside a template file directly?
I habe a custom page template with a custom WP_Query and output the video url like this:
… some html …
“>show video
… some html …
The Variable is filled correctly but the the lightbox is not showing.
The Video just opens directly (File in Browser).

Do I have to add some extra code to make this work?

Hello Gerald,

the HTML markup which you used works with FV Player lightbox: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/using-lightbox#lightbox-without-fvplayer-shortcodes

However – for it to work it must be part of the post content – the WordPress the_content filter must be running on it. I explained that in the above documentation.
