Subtitles

Hello,
I have a question about downloading a video file using the download shortcode [fvplayer_download src="your-hosting.com/your-video.mp4"].
Is it possible to also download the subtitles or the subtitle vtt file when downloading a video file? If yes how can this be done?

Thank you for the question!

The download button can be used to download other types of files as well. So, you can add a separate button for downloading the subtitles. Your viewers can then easily load them into their media player. Most media players allow for loading subtitles, but VLC is a sure bet.

(To achieve a single file, you can hardcode them into the file. That is, if you’re fine with the subtitles always being in the footage and not being able to turn the subtitles off.)

Hello Maria, thanks for you fast reply. I have another question regarding the statistics. The stats dashboard of the FV player is not that detailed. Is there a way to get more detailed stats about how many times a video was watched or downloaded, which users, from what country, which browser etc. Would you consider in the future to add more detailed features to the stats dashboard?

Hello Nikolaos,

we do definitely plan to make the built-in statistics more robust and detailed in the future. However, it is not the highest priority on our list at the moment.
