Hello Nizami,
I see you purchased the FV Flowplayer license, so there is nothing that should stop you from fully using the potential of your Vimeo account.
Please check our full step-by-step guide here and let us know if you have any questions: https://foliovision.com/player/how-to-use-vimeo-pro
Thanks,
Martin
Thanks Martin,
But I have PRO account in vimeo and I have set up all of this. But I have another problem. I must protect my videos from download in browsers with plugins. For example Video Downloader professional or FVD Downloader. There is such a possibility in FV WORDPRESS FLOWPLAYER or other services?
Hi Nizami,
Vimeo includes a timestamp with the URL which is only valid for 20 minutes so the window of opportunity is fairly short. Amazon Cloudfront works the same way.
One of the downsides of HTML5 video is that clever downloader software can grab the video. This is true of Vimeo, Wistia, YouTube, Amazon Cloudfront.
If you want really secure videos, for the moment it has to be in a Flash player (FV Player can be forced to Flash only). Brightcove is very resilient in Flash (difficult to download from) but is 10X more expensive than any of our other hosting options. Do not believing anybody’s marketing who says they have a 100% secure HTML5 player right now. The URL must go through the browser and can be picked up.
Netflix has just enabled DRM on HTML5 which works with Chrome. Widevine is part of HTML5 going forward. We will add DRM options as soon as they become available.
For the moment, I recommend you keep working with Vimeo as it is by far the easiest and most cost-efficient secure hosting solution on HTML5.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or suggestions for how to improve the plugin or security. I will be personally working on this security issue and it’s a top priority for me.
Making the web work for you, Alec
Hello Pablo,
please let us know what video type you are using and how it’s done.
I recommend you read our overview of video protection here: https://foliovision.com/player/securing-your-video/protecting-video-from-downloading
Thanks,
Martin
