Use FV Player instead default WordPress player

Foliovision › Forums › FV Player › How to … › Use FV Player instead default WordPress player

  • bonga 5 years, 10 months ago

    Hello,

I installed the free version and configured the settings to my liking but when i add a video to post, The video shows up in default wordpress player. I want this process to be without needing to add fv player shortcode manually because i run a a site where guest users post and the fv option is not available to front-end bloggers. I use microsoft azure for cdn on my site.

    Thanks,

    Hello Bonga,

please use Settings -> FV Player -> Integrations/Compatibility -> Handle WordPress [video] shortcodes.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi,

The audio files show up in wordpress player, Any way i can use fv flow player? do you support audio?

    regards
    bonga

    Hello Bonga,

FV Player does support audio, although it’s not its primary goal.

You can try to reinstall FV Player from the following ZIP file and see if that makes it work: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/audio-shortcode.zip

It should work if you are using .mp3 files. We could add this as a “Handle WordPress [audio] shortcodes.” setting.

    Thanks,
    Martin

hi i just installed the pro version, searched the forum but could not find the answer. i have many videos that are configured to run with the wordpress that i want to automatically convert to the FV player. a little bit different than this scenario. how can i do this so it is not done in a painful manner? thanks in advance

    Hello Armen,

you said your videos are inserted with WordPress a little bit differently than what we discussed in this topic. How exactly are these videos inserted? Please send over your shortcode or a screenshot of the editor.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    here’s a sample link
    https://cad-ray.com/capturing-multiple-occlusal-relationships-for-the-maxilla-and-the-mandible-with-the-medit-i500/

all the videos are already in another player. i want to automatically have all my videos in the FV player so i don’t have to do it manually.

i took a screenshot of the code editor
    thanks

it’s probably this feature which scares me to run. i can see lots of errors and crashes happening by clicking that. right now i go and grab the url of the video and pop it into the player manually. very time consuming
    thanks

    Hello Armen,

so you are using the Gutenberg video block. We will check if we could override that with FV Player in front-end.

Did you use JW Player on your website before? That button which is giving you errors is intended for that video player only. Perhaps it runs into some kind of trouble when it find that Gutenberg video block – what errors did you notice when you click that button?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Armen,

in the latest FV Player release the Settings -> FV Player -> Integrations/Compatibility -> “Handle WordPress video” setting also affects the videos inserted with the Gutenberg video block.

    Thanks,
    Martin
