I got this error when I tried to play this video, hosted from Vimeo Pro, from the website, starting with an audio error:

    Hi Jeff,

It seems that you have used the full link with tracking parameters (probably from a newsletter) – https://vimeo.com/215589792/5cdda1a3fc?utm_source=email&utm_medium=vimeo-cliptranscode-201504&utm_campaign=29220. To play the video in FV Player, just use the Vimeo domain + video ID: https://vimeo.com/215589792.

    Thanks,
    Eduard

    Thank you! It worked

Will speed controls work if I use vimeo as my video host?

    Eduard 8 years ago

    Hi Jason,

Of course. You can see test it yourself in this demo – Playback Speed. The first video is hosted on Vimeo.

    Thanks,
    Eduard

    Awesome!

Another question – Can I set the player to somehow start at a specific time? Vimeo allows for this with their native player, but it forces an autoplay which makes it unusable to me.

    Hi Jason,

Yes, you can, but the feature is only available in FV Player Pro. You can read more about it in this guide – How to Use Custom Start/End Time.

    Thanks,
    Eduard

i’ve created a website to honor my father

    http://bible-experts.com/bibleexperts/old-testament/8-1989-psalms-meditation-part-3/

if you press play, you will see an ad interrupt the video. that’s coming from a plugin i am developing called the adz.world plugin

well — when visitors click continue — the video isn’t where it was interrupted, but back at the beginning.

can your player make it so interrupted videos play where they were before they were cut off by an ad?

    best,
    dainis

    Lucia 7 years ago

    Hi Dainis!

Free version of the player only embeds a video and that is played via native Vimeo player. We cannot influence functionality here much. We have advanced Vimeo integration through our player in Pro version.

    Thanks,
    Lucia

    Hi Paulo!

I see this video works. Do you have trouble with privacy settings for Vimeo video? Or is there a problem that a Vimeo video video does not work for you within membership site? I’m sorry i did not grasp probably the full message with google translate.

If you want to make your videos private please make sure that in privacy settings on Vimeo you choose:

    * Hide this from Vimeo – video will be displayed only on your page, not visible on Vimeo
    * Where can this video be embedded? – only on site I choose (add your site)
    * What can people do with this video? – do not tick download it/ add it to collections…

    Thanks,

    Lucia

    Hi Paulo!

I’m sorry I could not again grasp what the problem is here. I see that first image is Vimeo player interface with Vimeo on demand service. And the second one is a video set up on ascurso.com. Is there a problem with the video set up in the second case? Could you try to tell us more about it in English?

    Thank you!

    Lucia

    Hello Paulo,

we are glad to hear you have found a solution to your problem.

I am just leaving a note for other users that might face similar issues: The problem was with a cache plugin.

Nice. It would be nice to not duplicate chapters on Vimeo and FV player. If Vimeo is setup with chapters, how does FV player automatically load chapters without manually reentering?

    Martin 4 years ago

    Hello Marshall,

we found the chapters are avaiable in the Vimeo video API response.

We would like to save these chapters when you insert the Vimeo video into FV Player.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

Thanks you. As a non-techie – is there more detail instructions to follow?

    Martin 4 years ago

    Hello Marshall,

we are starting the work on this feature. For start we will parse the chapters when posting the Vimeo video using FV Player Editor.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Marshall,

the Vimeo chapters parsing feature is done now.

To get it please deactivate and delete the FV Player Pro plugin you are using, then hit “Install Pro extension” at the top of the wp-admin -> Settings -> FV Player screen.
    Then switch to Beta: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/switching-fv-player-pro-to-beta

Please also reinstall FV Player (the free, non-Pro plugin) from this link: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/master.zip

To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with our plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.

Then each time you insert a Vimeo video using FV Player editor you will not only get the splash image and video caption in an automated way, but also the chapters.

    Thanks,
    Maria
