How to show “coming soon” or countdown message for videos that aren’t ready yet?

How can we display a “coming soon” message over the video box instead of the play button if we want to show the video will be released later in time? We would like to add all the videos and build this into our templates and then dynamically load the video source when it’s ready. Any ideas?
