I just purchased both vast and pro renewal, but I am still getting a message on my WordPress saying to renew my licence. How long does it take for it to take effect?

The renewal was not automatic. I waited for an hour, and it was still showing that messages, so, I looked at forum and found this https://foliovision.com/support/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/troubleshooting/license-renewal
By removing the licence and saving the changes without licence and adding back licence again that solved the issue.

sorry about dropping the ball here, we talked about this in the office, but I see you never got the recommendation to try to remove the license key and pit it back.
I guess we need to add a button to re-check the license to that renewal message. That way everybody will know what to do.
