Is this info perhaps old? I am using the text anchor example in WP 6.0.2 & FV Player Pro 7.5.29.7210, and I don’t get a text anchor, I get a video that plays in situ, clicking doesn’t produce a Lightbox either.

please let us know what exact code you are using.
I checked the “Anchor text with Ligtbox” and “Using Lightbox without FV Player shortcodes” examples of https://foliovision.com/player/features/playback/using-lightbox#anchor-text-with-lightbox and it all worked.

Which on your page shows a link to click, but doesn’t for me. I just get a video on the page. Which has me wondering if I need to update something, or change a setting, or…?

When using the first example,
[fvplayer]
, it supports a splash value. Is there a way to have a splash value when using a class? Or is href= the only data one can provide for the player?

if you want to use a splash screen then please use the full shortcode.
This whole feature with anchors opening the lightbox has been designed to be quick and easy. It’s for text links which open the video.
