Can the FV Flowplayer Wordpress plugin work with Optimizepress 2?

[Solved]

  • magentawave 9 years, 2 months ago

Has anyone figured out how to make the FV Flowplayer WordPress plugin work with Optimizepress 2? I got a plugin from the OP people that will turn OFF the default Flowplayer that comes with OP. I want to use the FV Flowplayer plugin because enables me to enter my Amazon S3 access keys and the Flowplayer that comes with OP doesn’t.

Can the FV Flowplayer produce short code? If so then I think I could use it with Optimizepress.

    Thanks

    Hello magentawave,

please read our post about Optimize Press 2 integration here: https://foliovision.com/2014/04/flowplayer-fixes-optimizepress

You can either just post our shortcode into a text box or use the Optimize Press Video Player interface. Please let us know if you still have any questions

    Thanks,
    Martin

Thanks but the problem with the default Flowplayer video player that’s used in OP is that it doesn’t enable you to connect with your S3 account like the FV Flowplayer WordPress plugin does. With the plugin there is a place on the plugins settings page where you can add your S3 access keys which means you can protect your videos from being played on other sites and downloaded.

So my next question is… if I install the plugin from OP that turns off the default flowplayer plugin and then experiment with the FV Flowplayer WordPress plugin and discover that for whatever reason it’s not working with OP, can I delete that OP plugin that turned off the default Flowplayer and return to using it again? Bottom line is that I don’t want to do something that I can’t reverse later.

    Thanks again.

Wow, I already replied to your comment and it’s not there so I guess I’ll try again. If there are dupes here then sorry because that wasn’t my intention.

    Here it is again:

    Hello magentawave,

we are sorry about the posting issues, however your submissions were detected as spam by the Akismet antispam service again. I did another check now and it appears your email address is not currently marked as spam, but you should be still in touch with them to let you know which comments you made to some other website using Akismet could have marked you as a spammer.

When we did out OptimizePress 2 tests there was no need for any plugin which would disable the Flowplayer built in into Optimize Press. Could you please have a look at the guide I posted above and let us know where the issue occurs?

We don’t recommend using something like OptimizePress for the exact reason as you said – we don’t want to do something that we can’t reverse later – so just make sure OptimizePress has a way of exporting the content built with the Live Edit feature.

    Thanks,
    Martin

I want to protect my S3 video files from being played on other sites and being downloaded. I can do that with the FV Flowplayer WordPress plugin on a site that was not built with OP because I can add my S3 access keys to the plugins settings page. I can’t do that with the default Flowplayer that’s comes with Optimizepress 2 because the default Flowplayer that comes with OP does not have a settings page like the FV Flowplayer WordPress plugin has.

I did read the instructions at the link you provided, so to clarify…

    1) Are you saying that I can download the FV Flowplayer WordPress plugin to a site that’s built with OP2 and do everything I need to do on the plugins Settings page and then proceed like normal by opening a video element in OP’s Live Editor? I don’t want to break OP, so before I try this, do you know for sure that this works?

    2) It’s too late for me to not use Optimizepress (plus I really like it), but I’m unclear about what you meant when you said: “…just make sure OptimizePress has a way of exporting the content built with the Live Edit feature.” Why would I want to export the content built with OP?

Thanks again for replying! (Hopefully when I click the “Submit” button you will get this!)

And still my latest post does not appear on this page and I am logged in just like I was before. What happens is that I click “Submit” and it looks like it’s trying to log me in again even though I am already logged. This topic matters to me a lot so in case you don’t get it I will try posting it again…

    Hello magentawave,

you submissions are still treated as spam by Akismet. Other users don’t have this issue. I put in some code to disable Akismet on forum submissions for logged in users, so it should be fine now.

    1) Yes, Optimize Press 2 should work, that’s what our post was about. Since it’s a paid software we can’t test it right now, so if nothing big has changed in it, it should still work.

    2) We think that it’s important to not stay locked-in in any plugin, theme or CMS. Nothing to fear about in the near future, but it’s important to know how to pack your site and move it elsewhere or to a different system when needed.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Sergejs,

I don’t see background images, only three videos that are unable to load (screenshot here). Could you try to give us some more information about your problem?

    Thank you,
    Eduard

In my case the video is not mp4. With the code option is it possible to use FV Flowplayer with Optimizepress?

    Lucia 7 years ago

    Hi Henrique,

FV Flowplayer will handle all the videos inserted by the Live Edit (RTMP and HLS). Or are you using any other files?

    Thanks,
    Lucia
