I hope you all are having a great week so far. I’m excited about the release of FV Player Pro 7. Do you have an estimate on when it will be released out of beta?
Anyways, I’m just writing in because I had a user on my site report video skipping on mobile. I’m still using Vimeo to host my videos. I did some troubleshooting with him…after I checked the “Disable MPEG-DASH” checkbox in FV Player options, the videos quit skipping on his device. Here is some detail he gave me about his phone:
“The phone is a one plus 5 120gb, I still have over 90gb left unused. Wifi is 30mbps and I am using chrome. The skip happens every 3-4 seconds or so on every video. It is only a small skip but off putting when trying to follow.”

Hello Devin,
some Android phones were using Dash, but we fixed that in FV Player Pro Beta 7.1.10.726. Please upgrade to that and you can disable the “Disable MPEG-DASH” setting again.

Can you tell me how to remove the FV Flowplayer logo from the bottom left of the player skin? I’m definitely all for promoting your product in other ways, but want to keep the player clean.

Hello Devin,
it should not be happening. If you see our logo, then your site was unable to fetch the new license key (Flowplayer requires us to do so). You can try to remove the license key which you have in Settings -> FV Player at the top of the screen and then hit the button to activate the license again.

Sounds good, I’ll give that a try. Might have to do more testing on it next week…need to get back to the guitar lessons at the moment. I’ll keep you posted on it.

Hi Martin,
I tried to remove the license key and re-activating…the player is still showing the FV Flowplayer logo watermark at the bottom left of the player…it shows the logo just before the video plays, and if you pause the video and click play again, it shows the logo for the remainder of the video.

Hello Devin,
the license key is correct. It might sound weird, but it might be caused by KeyCDN. We use it as well and we don’t have issues like this, so it’s strange.
But could you please disable use of KeyCDN in the WordPress plugin which you use and see if that helps?

Hey Martin,
I deactivated KeyCDN, removed the FV license code and added the code back, purged the CDN several times, but the logo still shows. It shows after I pause the video, and it also shows all the time in safari and on my iPhone. Any other ideas? Is there a quick fix in the meantime?..maybe like deleting a line of code in my child theme somehow?

Great, thanks for you help. Do you need me to keep Beta activated on my website? Or can I switch back to Release for now? Just wondering because the logo covers up some of the guitar tablature that I embed into my lessons.

Hey Martin,
I’m using the Custom player skin (settings on attached screenshot). I was doing a bit more testing of the Beta player and found a styling idea to possibly consider:
The left side of the player timeline jumps around depending on the time of the video…it looks like the time ticking affects the width of the timeline. Could you set a fixed width for the counter to keep the timeline a solid bar?
Also, will removing the logo watermark from the beta player require a plugin update so I’ll know when the change has been made? No huge rush but I’m just excited to switch over to the new player. I really like the look of it a lot and it seems to be pretty reliable so far.

unfortunately there are no news about the logo issue yet, we haven’t heard back from Flowplayer team yet.
Thank you for the bug report. The issue can be see as the time goes form 00:20 to 00:21 and to 00:22. It appears to only happen if the “Font Face” is set to “(inherit from template)” though. We will check it out.

I ran the latest update on the FV Player a minute ago, cleared cache and purged my CDN, but it still looks like the logo is showing up. Any ideas?

regarding Flowplayer 7.2.7 – all I was able to get out of Flowplayer support was that it might be out this week. The final problem is the one which you are having – the license keys don’t work reliably.
Chromecast has been added in FV Player 7. We will check once again why it won’t work for Vimeo videos, hopefully it will be an easy fix.

I was able to test Flowplayer 7.2.7 and the logo issue for your domain is fixed. We will release new FV Player Beta with it one Thurdsay.
Next week we will make FV Player 7 the release version with option to roll back to FV Player 6 in case of some serious issues.

FV Player 7.1.13.727.beta is out, it has the new Flowplayer version in it and as far as I was able to test it you should no longer be having these logo issues with it.

I see, that makes sense. I just toggled over to Beta and purged my CDN…everything looks great on this end — the logo watermark is gone now! I had a couple of members that reported buffering issues on their Android tablets with the old Release version of FV Player..just sent them an e-mail to test the new Beta player. They tested the Beta player on Foliovision’s website a while back and the videos played great for them there so hopefully my other plugins aren’t causing issues. I’ll let y’all know what they say.

we did some tests and FV Player will allow you to play Vimeo videos through Chromecast. The way it works is that the player controls stay in the computer and the picture shows up on your TV.
