I’m not sure I understand you correctly.
You the default video dimensions will be used for any video which doesn’t have the width and height specified in the shortcode.
Is that the default video size that I’ve set in the settings? What about when the video uploads in own video size? Why does our default settings over ride the video size settings on upload?
The only way you get settings in the short code are to either manually enter them yourself or allow the video sizes to stay.
I don’t see the reason for the default player size in the settings if you’re we have to then edit the settings every time we upload a video.
I should be able to set me default player size and then every video I upload should retain those settings. As it stands every upload has to be manually adjusted to the proper size, all but eliminated the default settings.
Yeah, I think using the retina one all the time would work best. I look forward to what you find out about the logo too.
Thanks
11 years ago in reply to: embedding not workingYeah, I can send that. I’ve decided not to use that feature so it’s not a big issue for me. You can focus on other things.
11 years ago in reply to: How To Reposition Custom LogoPerfect thank you. I didn’t add all the elements, so I think that was my problem. Thanks again.
11 years ago in reply to: Extra return after closing php tagOops, my bad. I’ll post this in the right place then. Sorry about that.
11 years ago in reply to: How To Reposition Custom LogoAlright that sounds good. I tried moving with my some css but had no luck so I came here. I look forward to hearing from Marin when he returns.
11 years ago in reply to: Extra return after closing php tagWell done Brett, I was just going to report the same thing. In my case I like to butt up a banner under the video player but with the extra line space being add that doesn’t work so well. LOL
11 years ago in reply to: .mov videos?Hi Martin,
It was a bad mime type, I apologize. I had turned off the checker before and failed to turn it back on. I made the recommended change to the .htaccess file and it immediately fixed the problem.
However:
When videos play in Firefox there is a 1x splashed on the screen in a light grayed out box when the play button is pressed. This happens for all users. Is this a setting we can turn off, I’ve looked but didn’t see anything?
Thank you!
11 years ago in reply to: .mov videos?Hi again. I believe I found a possible bug.
In firefox the player will not play .mov video files. That same file plays in the same player ( I used a post on my test site to verify) perfectly fine in all other browsers including mobile iOS.
I’ve tested this situation on three different computers with two different versions of Firefox (v21 &v22) with the same results. Again, that same post plays perfectly in all other browser but will not play in Firefox.
If you take the file outside of the player it plays perfectly fine in firefox. Place it inside the player and it will not play. When testing I was able to get one html5 error that said that the file could not be found, which is odd because it plays fine everywhere else.
So as far as I can tell, other than this Firefox bug with .mov file everything else works great.
Thanks!!
11 years ago in reply to: “Get Flash” notice on iOS devicesMartin,
Just updated to the latest version and noticed you’ve added the text we talked about but the instructions to download flash are still there? I thought we agreed those would be removed as they don’t apply to the device.
This needs to take into account that not all sites give a mobile version for iPads for example. In fact, I’ve found most sites use the non mobile version for iPads while other iOS devices are directed to the mobile versions.
It would be better not to have iOS devices giving wrong information that clearly doesn’t apply to them.
What do you think about changing to wording from “unsupported video file” to “unsupported video file for device” letting them know the device can’t play the video and that it is not a problem with the website itself.
Shouldn’t we just go back to how things displayed originally in version like 1.2 where it said nothing at all but clearly showed the video file couldn’t be played?
Thanks
12 years ago in reply to: “Get Flash” notice on iOS devicesHey Martin,
I noticed in this most recent update there is still the screen that advises users to download flash when viewing from their iPad. I think you should take that off completely.
iPad and other iOS devices will never use flash and telling them to do so is unhelpful. I suggest you go back to the previous version options where there was simply a line across the play button indicating the video can’t play.
Thanks.
Updated to 2.1.7 dialog boxes still missing. No way to insert video or splash screens.
Obviously when you block the button use there only way to use it is in the visual mode so your suggestion that I continue to do that as a fix, is really ridiculous since that’s the only way it can be used as of now.
Moving forward, I’m not sure what you tested but when there is no dialog box to access the media library how can you insert media to begin with?
As I stated all dialog boxes that would normally appear to open up the media library so that you can either upload new video or chose something already upload in your library are disable or do not appear.
Second, as I stated before, if you manually try to copy and post those links into those areas the fv player dialog box will close but no videos or code is inserted into the post.
I can’t test further if the dialog boxes don’t work.
Updated to 2.1.3 and there are more issues. You can only use the visual editor to insert video, however when the dialog box opens, there are no options to insert video. There is the space where the link would go but no option to open the media library in order to insert a video. That option is also missing from splash image box as well.
If however you manage to insert a link manually for both the video and splash page the dialog box now closes thankfully but it doesn’t insert any video. It acts as if it’s going to insert something but you can sit and wait and nothing every display. Switching back and forth between the visual and html editors just reviews a blank box (given you haven’t typed any text) and no video or code.
This is still an ongoing issue after I’ve sent you all information via email. The dialog box doesn’t close in any browser. This needs to be fixed.
Hello Again,
Yes, the version does require a code change but thankfully I was able to run my own script and change those codes back without too much trouble.
12 years ago in reply to: Display Issues Chrome and IEHello Alec,
I have since converted back to the previous version of the player. My sites get far too much traffic to leave something up that isn’t working properly, I’m sure you understand.
I did extensive testing on two different sites with completely different set ups on different servers and had the same issues right out of the box. I also tested on all browsers using different forms of media (flv, mp4) to see if there was a difference.
I downgraded too, thankfully. I can’t believe they would release something with so many problems.
Adding insult to injury, I sent an email letting them know how disappointed I was with the update and how I didn’t appreciate them adding branding to then require us to pay to remove it. Which I would have done, but they should have told us before we upgraded. Anyway, I got a very rude and sarcastic message in return that basically told me to stop bitching and to wipe my tears and downgrade if I wasn’t happy.
I couldn’t believe how rude and absolutely disrespectful the email was. They certainly won’t be getting any of my money or business in the future.
I’m having lots of problems too. I can’t insert any videos now into any post. Videos don’t play properly on iOS devices, there is BRANDING on a product that claims to be branding free.
I would like to downgrade too.
