Problem setting with PayPal integration

[Solved]

I purchased the FV Pay Per View for WooCommerce today and I have been able to get it installed but not function as I would like. Basically I would like for viewers to be able to click on the option to rent (no sales) a video and then be taken directly to the payment screen where they can process payment instead of a checkout page where they have to fill out personal information again. It is a membership site so I do not need to capture name, email, phone etc. as they have to be signed in in order to view the available video pages. I have tried several different settings on the WooCommerce setting but nothing seems to provide this functionality. I just want:
MEMBER SIGN IN -> SELECT VIDEO -> PAYMENT POP UP or SCREEN -> MEMBER PAYS WITH MONEY or ACCT CREDIT.

Did I purchase the wrong FV Pay Per View version or am I just missing something? Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again – lol

    Hello Jp,

thanks for reaching out to us!

The PPV plugin also installs the PayPal checkout add-on for WooCommerce. This allows users to just click the “PayPal” button and go straight to their PayPal account to pay, instead of proceeding through the “Go to checkout” button and filling out their details. The order then gets sent to the email connected to their PayPal account.

For other forms of payment, have you tried enabling WooCommerce -> Settings -> Accounts and Privacy -> “Allow customers to log into an existing account during checkout” ?

    Thanks,
    Maria

    Maria,

The process you noted above is not the process that I am getting. When a subscriber clicks the Rent video they are taken to a cart page and must click “proceed to checkout”, which takes them to a Billing Details page where they must fill out name address, phone, etc. and then they click place order which takes them to PayPal where they must sign into their account to process payment? Yes I have tried the “Allow customers to log into an existing account during checkout” option but I still get the same process? Prior to installing the FV Player PPV I was using PayPal express for users to purchase a subscription and it functioned like you mentioned above. The FV Player PPV installed PayPal checkout so disabled PayPal express and still got the same results? So the process I am truing to achieve is:
MEMBER SIGN IN – not a FV player issue, this is only way members can see available videos >

SELECT VIDEO – click rent video (no buy option) >

PAYMENT POP UP or SCREEN – which allows members to pay with credit from their WooCommerce Wallet account or with PayPal >

MEMBER PAYS WITH MONEY or ACCT CREDIT -after payment member is provided access to watch full video and receives confirming email.

Did I purchase the wrong FV Pay Per View version? I thought because I was already using WooCommerce on my site it would allow for the process I was trying to achieve?

Thanks in advance for your assistance,

    Jp

OK the more I work with this the worse it gets. At this point I can’t even get anything processed via the WooCommerce Checkout plugin as it appears to have broken or be in conflict something else?

As I just purchased this less than 24 hrs ago and it is not going to work can I PLEASE switch to the regular FV PPV Player that works with EDD as I think I will have much better luck. I am clearly not going to be able to work with this so I am not asking for a refund just a product swap PLEASE. I don’t have a $100 to burn & would be an extremely happy customer.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jp

    Hello Jp,

I agree that a checkout process should be as simple as possible. WooCommerce is far from it, yet it’s one of the most popular plugins out there.

In my testing I was able to set wp-admin -> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Advanced -> “Cart page” to the same page as “Checkout page” and get rid of that unneccessary Cart page showing during Pay Per View purchase – see the “WooCommerce cart with one rented video” screenshot here: https://foliovision.com/player/pay-per-view/woocommerce#payment-process

    Does that help?

Perhaps we could also remove the unnecessary billing fields. WooCommerce is more complex than Easy Digital Downloads, but perhaps we could do that if the purchase is for a single item and it’s a FV Player Pay Per View video. But it would take us about a week to get there.

We could switch you to FV Player Pay Per View (for Easy Digital Downloads), that way there is only a single checkout screen where you hit the PayPal button or enter the credit card infromation if you have the Easy Digital Downloads Stripe Payment Gateway plugin ($89 per site).

So if you intested in WooCommerce already, it might make sense to let us improve the FV Player Pay Per View for WooCommerce plugin.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Martin,

I had already completed the same test and got the same results but as you can see it is still a lengthy process just to rent a video. While I would have liked for the WooCommerce route to work, at this point I think I would do better with the FV PPV player that integrates with EDD. Upon further review, it appears that the EDD extensions will require some additional investment, I think it would be better than attempting to continue down the WooCommerce route even with trying to remove the billing input screens. I would hate to invest the time trying to make something work that ultimately does not serve the required function.

So I would GREATLY appreciate being able to switch over to the regular or EDD version of the FV PPV player.

Thanks again for your assistance and willingness to work with me.

    Kindly,
    Jp
