Using the beta version of FV Player Pro with chromecast and it seems that most of the videos on my site are having random stutters with the audio and video when casting. Is this a known or widespread issue? It seems completely random. The videos play fine on pc…They are all hosted on vimeo pro and embedded on the website using FV Player Pro.

Hi Philip,
I’ve tested three videos on your website and I haven’t experienced any stuttering or lagging. Everything seems to work just fine.
Are you that it is not caused by the speed of your internet connection? I’ll discuss this with our Senior programmer to check if there are any possible performance issues, but for now I can’t find any other explanation.
However, I’ve noticed something different. When I visit the video that you’ve sent me the login form pop-up appears even when I am logged in to the account that you’ve provided me.
I’ll do little more testing tomorrow and I’ll keep you posted.

Ok thanks. For the most part they seem to play well for me but occasionally I’ll get a short stutter. I’ve had a few users complain about it though and they claim that casting from other websites doesn’t have the issues.

FV Player only sends the file URL to the Chromecast, it doesn’t affect the way it plays the video. In case of a Vimeo video we just send over the HLS URL.
Are you seeing the issue on your end too? Then you can try to post some video with the so-called Vimeo Pro File URLs: https://vimeo.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/224823567-Direct-links-to-video-files -> “Accessing your video’s third-party player links”
Make sure you use the HTTP Live Streaming (HLS ) one and see if you get the same issue with it as well. Videos are easier to download that way but it’s worth doing such experiment on a single video.
