BuddyPress issues

[Solved]

FV Player shortcode parses nicely in Most pages including the Buddypress Activity Stream.

However, within the activity stream, if you click a filter tab like Mention, or Load More, or similar buttons, then the short code appears there instead of video player.

    Jinobi

    Hi Jinobi,

I’m not sure why it works for you when you open the activity screen but doesn’t work on the subsequent pages or when you use filters.

As far as I know the shortcodes don’t normally work in excerpts:

So you should be checking if your activity screen is showing the posts excerpts or full posts and if this behavior changes when you use the filter.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

For now, I managed to find a workaround using a plugin to take the activity stream to a WordPress page.

Short codes work very well in the activity stream (I have extended the character length in Buddypress for posts and bbpress shortcode whitelisting is enabled), but some Ajax elements like Load More and similar Filters seems conflicting. Because the same filters are working very well in the activity stream area of the Profile area.

I think you could look at this and try to find some solution.

    Regards,
    Jinobi

    Hello Jinobi,

could you please share a full list of plugins you are using? You mentioned something about extending character length in BuddyPress for posts and bbPress shortcode whitelisting.

That would make resolving this easier, otherwise it may be just a problem with your template.

    Thanks,
    Martin
