[Solved]

    Hello,

I’ve updated to the latest version and now, the player is not displayed anymore. I tried the option “Check template”, but I cannot see ANY result while “Check videos” works fine.

I dont know how to debug this, please let me know if you have any ideas.

    Hello Nigcra,

please check our troubleshooting guide here: https://foliovision.com/player/installation#fixing-broken-javascript

It “Check template” fails and shows nothing, could you please see if you find anything related to it in your PHP error log?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Martin,

thanks for your reply. I read the troubleshooting guide, but I cannot see any problems dedicated to includes or jquery.

The PHP / webserver log is “empty”:

    web5@www /home/logs # cat web5-error.log
[Fri Dec 12 07:33:52 2014] [error] [client 62.176.232.167] File does not exist: /home/htdocs/web5/test/favicon.ico

(I cleared the log and opened the video page and admin interface once)

I changed nothing at the code since 2013, the jquery-version is:

    <script type='text/javascript' src='http://test.secondservice.info/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.11.1'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='http://test.secondservice.info/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=1.2.1'></script>

    Hello Nigcra,

what about trying a different template? You can use the Theme Preview function of WordPress (step 2. in our guide).

Do you see fv-flowplayer.min.js in your HTML source?

Do you see any errors on the console (step 1. in our guide).

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hello Nigcra,

what about Settings -> FV WordPress Flowplayer -> Sitewide Flowplayer Defaults -> “Always use fixed size player”?

Also what version did you upgraded from?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hey Martin,

I tried one of the default themes before I started this thread – no player appeared.

I also tried these both options (sitewide/fixed size) with the same result. I found the fv-flowplayer.min.js at the bottom of the html output: http://test.secondservice.info/?page_id=40

Unfortunately, I dont remember the version I upgraded from, but I think its a version I installed in March 2014.

    Hello Nigcra,

are you sure you enabled FV WordPress Flowplayer -> Sitewide Flowplayer Defaults -> “Always use fixed size player”? It helped in our test environment.

The underlying problem appears to be your PHP – normally decimal numbers are using dot symbols, but in your case there is a coma symbol. This breaks our JavaScript.

Could you please check if our latest dev version fixes the problem for you? https://foliovision.com/downloads/fv-wordpress-flowplayer-dev.zip

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hey Martin,

I’m sure I enabled both options and reloaded the players page with F5. Thanks for the dev build – that helped. So its dedicated to an abnormal php configuration?

    PHP 5.4.35-0+deb7u2 (cli) (built: Nov 19 2014 07:56:24)

I think its similar to the german Debian 7 php-fpm default config.

    Hello nigcra,

I think your PHP uses German localized decimal separators – “,” symbol instead of “.”. If it works with our dev vesion, then we have a solution, but it would be better to use setlocale().

    Thanks,
    Martin
