Hi, I was looking at alternative to affordable Vooplayer alternative and hence found your plugin as a great alternative.
But I noticed that FolioVision FV player only supports YouTube as of now, but not those videos that are hosted on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. ( probably)
I want to use FV player Pro for all my video embed thing for my WordPress site. You must be aware that the newer version of WordPress does support video playback for Facebook, Twitter etc.
Even VooPlayer support Facebook as externam video hosting : https://cl.ly/psVO
When can we expect this on FV player ( or it already here) ?
Thank you.

Hi Eduard,
Just to give you an example of all these, I have just created a test post: https://presspeace.com/2018/03/02/fb-twitter-insta-video-test/Have a look to this post.
Similar to how we copy YouTube link and paste it in the WordPress dashboard, WordPress is now self capable to make it playable on the live site.
Similarly, all I did is- copy the video link ( by right-clicking the date written on the video and select ‘copy link’) on Facebook, Twiiter and Instagram.
So, here are three links that I actually inserted in this post- https://presspeace.com/2018/03/02/fb-twitter-insta-video-test/ and you can clearly see that these links are now automatically converted into a playable by WordPress native video player.

As I said, VooPlayer is already capable of inserting Facebook videos into their system just like FVplayer Support Vimeo, Dailymotion or YouTube. Let’s see if we can go ahead and supports Twitter, Instagram as well along with Facebook to authentically claim our power over WordPress native player. :)
looking forward to some awesome feature update.
Thank you.
Hello,
Thank you for the thorough explanation. Your page, unfortunately, doesn’t work, but I assume that you meant using Facebook videos like in this guide.
This creates an iframe embed of Facebook’s player (which is different from WP’s native video player) – similar to using a direct link to a YouTube video. This is different than serving the YouTube via our player (the difference can be seen in this demo).
We are currently looking into the possibility of using Facebook videos in our player, so I’ll let you know if we get to something.
Thanks,
EduardHi Eduard,
Thank you for the response.
I am sorry that the previous blog link didn’t work. Actually, I had reinstalled the above mentioned domain on a new server and had forgotten that there was a link that I sent you.Anyways, here is the working demo link: https://presspeace.com/2018/03/05/foliovision-test/
I doubt that the WPBeginner that you had shared above is an older method of using Facebook videos on WordPress and doesn’t actually demonstrate the method that I have mentioned.
Actually, the method that I have shared/used to publish Facebook videos on WordPress is exactly similar to how we publish a YouTube video. Have a look at this gif screenshot: https://cl.ly/pw4M
I researched more and found that, probably WordPress is using mediaelementjs from http://www.mediaelementjs.com and it does support Facebook, Twitter etc, natively. Here is the gif screenshot: https://cl.ly/pw8R
If you want to dive deeper and want to see how they are able to use Facebook, Twitch etc. Have a look at this detailed documentation: https://github.com/mediaelement/mediaelement/blob/master/docs/installation.md#mime-types ( it’s an open source project and I am very sure you must already be aware of it)
Actually, I am very limited with my budget :(. And hence I am looking for the best possible solution at the least possible pricing. FV player Pro has lot many features and probably my best pick till now but I do want some of the modern features to be available here and hence I am trying to provide you as many possible resources to get some of the missing features available here.
BDW, Vooplayer is providing their PRO license for the lifetime for $97 one-time payment until ( https://goto.vooplayer.com/get-pro-license ) tomorrow and hence I am confused whether to go for it or should invest in FV player Pro ( Low budget guys issue. :) )
I do see some discounts for 5 licenses on FV player Pro but I need just one. Can you kindly offer some discount for the single license to me?Thank you.
Hi Nanowhiz,
Thanks for the suggestions and a big thank you for the information on MediaElement support for Facebook and Twitter. We’ll improve our compatibility with the built-in MediaElement management of those video formats.
I have a question for you about Facebook video – do you know that if you show videos on Facebook via API and not via iframe that the video view count does not rise? Would that matter to you?
Making the web work for you, Alec
PS. I think Vooplayer is on sale more often than you’d suspect. Not sure about the quality of the code or why one would prefer to use a player focused on its own (expensive) CDN than a player which is focused on external hosting. Their sales page is certainly impressive. Thanks for sharing that too.
Based on what I read about Vooplayer, you’d be much better off with FV Player. Vooplayer hasn’t really been updated in four years (a lot has changed with online video). We update and improve FV Player almost every week.
Hi Alec,
Thank you for the quick response.About your question – I hope you wanted to ask “…if I show videos of Facebook on WordPress post via API and not via iframe..” or is it .. “if you show videos on Facebook via API and not via iframe..”?
I recently came to know that no matter in whatever way, I post my ( or others) Youtube videos on WordPress site ( or any site), it won’t increase the views on YouTube site. It is mostly because of the youtube’s forced limit on iframe usage. Is it true? Do we use YouTube API or iframe to play YT videos on WP sites through FVplayer pro?
Will the views increase on YouTube platform as well if I embed those videos on my site using FVPlayer Pro?About Facebook videos- I really don’t know whether the videos view count rise or not. Also, I don’t really care much about this for my current use. Because I simply want to curate best YT and FB videos on my site.
About Vooplayer, it’s very much visible and clear that they are more like a marketing people than a dedicated team of developers. Still, the player looks very neat and there is few extra nice feature that we don’t have on FVPlayer pro yet. ( kindly check attachment for the feature list). Also, now they are actively updating their products every month. ( https://vooplayer.com/blog/category/product-updates ) , it’s just that since they don’t have any free plan on VooPlayer, the WordPress plugin hasn’t updated.
All said, I do believe in the Vision of FVP more and really happy with the ongoing updates, development and the fact that we are already talking even when I didn’t even buy it yet. ( thank you for great pre-customer support)
Looking forward to the Facebook integeration very soon.
Hi Eduard,
Actually, I had received a message from Alec, not exactly regarding this, but about his concerns about my ‘keep questioning’ behavior. :)I have already responded to it but didn’t hear anything back from him or anyone else. Do you want to look into it and have word with Alec regarding the same?
Thanks.
